Default Isolating air intake for cold air

Does anyone know of an air filter that is similar to the PDM air intake where the filter itself isn't exposed?

I have a JC Sports intake with a K&N air filter but I don't want the filter exposed to the engine bay. I'm looking for an air filter that isn't an 'open' type so I can route the intake to the fenderwell area. I'm familiar with piping it to the fenderwell but this isn't for the 2.5RS. A filter like the PDM 'enclosed' unit would be perfect but not at that price.

I'm willing to compromise and get a cheap unit for now. I have other plans for the future and don't intend to spend a lot for the intake itself. Thanks for any help.

The injen pipe has the filter element inside the fender, through the hole in the wall just in front of the strut tower.

Keepin mind this is also the intake that removes the stock airbox and comes right off the TB, making a big round bend back toward the front of the car.

This is good. The only thing is that I'm looking for the enclosed type of air filter like the PDM filter so I can make my own piping to the fender. This is for another Subaru, not the 2.5RS. The hole in the side of the engine bay is way smaller and oval shaped. If I can get an enclosed air filter like the PDM *cheaper*, then I can simply connect the intake filter to the side of the engine bay where the oval hole is. I already have ducting from my foglight going up right into the side of the engine bay.

If there aren't any cheaper PDM enclosed like intakes, then I'll have to isolate my air filter and seal it off from the engine bay onto the ducting.
