Question Rally-X Checklist???

Is there a Rally checklist somewhere that I can read that would let me know what to get for my stock ImpRS before I even think about going to Rally school or Rally-X?? I'm interested in going to a rally course school(?) here in MI, but I'm not sure if my car is ready as is or not. I would like to get an idea if it is possible with just stock, or do I need to hold off until I get upgrades. If upgrades are needed...is there a list? Thanks..

It depends on exactly what you intend to do. An SCCA-ready rally car needs a roll cage, rally computer, and harnesses at the very least (join the SCCA and get the rule book for specifics). Rally-X doesn't require all that. If you're going to be flogging your car down dirt roads at speed, you're going to want a beefy suspension, seam welding and so on. The general consensus is you can pay for the prep work now, or you can repeatedly pay for new parts when your non-prepped car continues to break. Rally-X isn't going to be that hard on your car (generally speaking), and you should probably ask the rally school how hard you're going to be driving your car when you go there. You can look here for some pointers.

rallyx...
well in our SCCA division... you dont need any upgrades at all.. the courses are realitively flat, few rocks if any... and all cars have fared just fine...

i do recommend, however, a skid plate, and rear diff protector... just in case

see www.oregonrally.com
for details and differences in thd different types of rally...
any questions let me know.

Cool

Thanks for all the info everyone. I will definitely take up your offer about questions, SubieGal. I don't know what to ask yet, but I know who to ask now.
