Default Question about ludespeed and gt-spec headers

I was going to pieace a wrx/rs turbo kit together but I got think about it alot and decided to not go that route... Instead I am just goin to buy the ludespeed stage 2 kit.. This way it will save me time and money in the end.. But my question is: will the gt-spec headers bolt up to the ludespeed turbo? And will the Moto 3" turbo back bolt up as well? The turbo back has the bell mouth to fit the wrx turbo and I already bought them both.... The reason that I want to go with the ludespeed is because it has all the thing's that I need for a turbo kit.... But I all ready have the header and upipe with the turbo back so I would not need the exhuast that it came with... Plus I will goin FMIC... so let me know what you guys think...

you would have to put them(the headers) on your car to see if it hooks up at the stock location, but i dont think it will, as those are designed for the ej20t, which is on the JDM gc8, which is what they say it will fit on, but otherwise they dont know. you could try and see but i am thinking it wont. i dont know about the rest of the exhaust.

from my understanding eveything will work with the wrx exhaust.. Meaning the wrx turbo with the wrx exhaust all I have to do is get a wrx crossmember.. But I don't know if the ludespeed turbo will bolt up to it... I have not ordered the kit yet but I have the other parts... So that's where I lay for know...

yea all that stuff will work if you stick with all your wrx components, but i cant say the same for the ludespeed kit, and my guess is that it wont, but i mean you can solve the mystery by just hooking up those headers on your car and seeing if it connects at the stock location, cause thats all the ludespeed kit needs is it to end at the stock point.

A ludespeed turbo will not bolt up to those pieces. IIRC the Ludespeed kit uses a t3/t4, and all the exhaust pieces you bought have IHI flanges. The headers wont fit on your car without the WRX or Legacy turbo crossmember and a turbo waterpump. In addition, the way the turbo sits in a Ludespeed kit is very different than how it sits in a WRX style kit. Your best bet would be either to sell off the headers and exhaust and buy a Ludespeed kit, or finish the WRX setup with the parts you bought.

good call on the flanges, i didnt even think of that, but that is right. unless he got a custom uppipe, downpipe made, which may not even be worth it. Sorry pimp, looks like you may need to choose one or the other.

Dam I guess you can never have two good thing's at once..

Thanks guys...

But hey what if you went with a IHI turbo and stayed with the header and upipe with the 3" exhaust... And then used the rest of the ludespeed kit? I don't see any harm in that... But I could be wrong.. And I know that the T3/T4 would be way better but I guess I would have to sacifice one for the other....

But let me know what you guys think

If you already have those pieces, you may as well continue on the WRX route. Buy a larger used IHI style turbo... dont really know the size though. Maybe start with the one the sti uses (usdm)

You'll probably have to get a custom IC made. Maybe once of the kit vendors will sell you a RS one? Then custom intake and charge pipe... There's still alot to go.

Either that or just sell off the two pieces you already bought. Buying the ludespeed kit now would kinda be a waste of money in alot of ways.
