Default If the rods in a sti are the same as in a 1.8 will aftermarket rods fit?

Hey,

I was told that the rods in the EJ18 were the same as the rods in the wrx sti motor. If this is true will forged aftermarket rods for the ej20 fit the ej18?

If so that would be great. It would save me having to get custom ones made.

Thanks

Tom

i really really really doubt the rods in an ej18 are the same as the rods in an sti. that would mean the ej18 was waaaaaaaaaaay over engineered. maybe the dimensions of the rods are the same, but either way just get rods made specifically for your ej18. i'm sure they're available somewhere

The EJ18 motors do indeed have the same rods as EARLIER STI motors, but highly doubt they are the same on any newer series motors.
