Arrow Reno Auto-X trip June 7/8 for frustrated Sac Auto-x'ers (Auto-xing not required)

This friday im going to head up to my family's cabin up by Soda Springs like I mentioned in a few other posts and use it to head up to Reno on Sat/Sun and do some autocrossing at the airport with the Reno SCCA folks because as far as I know there are no more Sacramento Autocrosses scheduled the rest of the year (BAH TO CAL EXPO, MCCLELLEN AND MATHER!!!)

You can read more about the auto-x here: http://www.doink.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=312
and here:
http://www.renoscca.com/

Anyway, im going up on friday morning to open up the house, it fits 11 people in the beds without squeezing anyone into couches or on the floor and I had a ski meet here a couple years back for the club so it works just fine for meets. Its at the Kingvale Exit up I-80 before Boreal and Soda springs if anyone wants an idea of where it is exactly (about an hour drive to Reno).

So if anyone wants to come up friday (or later saturday) PM me, Email me or give me a call on my Cell phone -> (916) 390-3650 to get actual directions to the place and to tell me if you want to come or not.

I do have a couple stipulations though since its not my place:

1) No Alchohol

2) No Sexual Relations with Women utilizing in the Beds unless one is provided for every lonely racer in the facility

3) No Destruction of Property/Rough Housing in the place (Including theft and other such occurances)

I know that might sound strict, but I dont need any incidents occuring on family property (Hasnt happened yet in over 25 years of owning the place, dont need to have anything happen anytime soon)

Other than that, its basically just going to be a rest stop so we can go Autocross, and for anyone else who wants to just go explore some dirt roads in the Truckee area or other roads in general or even just to gambling in Reno instead feel free to give me a call.

Cheers

-Steve aka Kostamojen

I have to go to a graduation early Sunday morning....plus again, getting my parents to let me drive that far is like pulling teeth.

They are holding onto the last 1/2" of the leash with all their might...unfortunately that last 1/2" is my CAR! No Car = no go.

Kostamojen, I might be down for Friday and Saturday night. It depends on the status of my new tires. I'm still running my RE92's and they are nearly slicks at this point. No way can I autox on them. I have some yoks on order at America's Tire company that were supposed to be in two weeks ago. If they arrive before this weekend, I'm down. Sounds fun! Thanks for your hospitality.

Hope to see some of you up here this weekend!

You might be tired if you autocrossed, but if not, there's lots to do in/around Reno.

Eurofest 2003
This 5th annual event includes European food, imported beer and on-going entertainment from 4-10 p.m. June 6, noon-10 p.m. June 7 and noon to 5 p.m. June 8 at Rail City Casino. Details: Lisa at 954-2233.

RailCity is in Sparks/next door to Reno.

There are shows at nearly all of the casinos' showrooms. Nightclubs at several of the larger casinos, as well as standalone.

Sounds like the cabin is about 45-60 minute drive back from Reno, though. So save some energy [and sanity] for that drive, especially if its at night.

Dude how old are you? There's plenty to do in Reno, the go kart tracks should still be open.

Oh man! if everyone from Autocross went to the go kart track, that would be awesome! We got in enough trouble when the group went a few months back!

I usually hang out around Truckee and Tahoe, dont do much Reno stuff exept checking out casinos once in awhile (I usually only play the slot machines with the cars you can win ) and explore some of the areas around it.

I definatly want to take anyone who comes to the Pizza place in Truckee that has the best garlic chips EVER and maybe see if we cant explore some of the other roads in the area for fun and see if we cant find the outlet of Foresthill road... Maybe go up to tahoe and do some rafting if nobody wants to auto-x on sunday Theres alot to do.

As for that atwater thing, its actually about 30 minutes farther to drive there as it is to drive to the cabin, and i keep hearing good things about Reno's Airport auto-x's so I'm curious

Jeff: Just use the Auto-x as an excuse to wear out the tires even more If you want me to, i can email you a map of how to get to the cabin along with the address. If you decide at the last moment, give me a call on my cell and if that doesnt work immediatly call the cabin since thats where ill be most of friday at (530) 426-3216 and that goes for everyone else who might just decide to stop by

Lowball: Only at Mather AFB, Mcclellen and Cal Expo... But im sensing that Reno's venu might actually have better pavement than any of those

That's a good, actually. (If I have any energy left.) But, the slick track would only allow like 8 of us in at a time? And/or maybe the little nascars track might be open....

Kostamojen,

Sorry I couldn't make it man. Thanks so much though for you hospitality. Trust me on my tires, they are REALLY worn, you can barely see the pattern where the tread was. Definitally not safe, and would be worthless in AutoXing. Sucks that I couldn't get the new ones installed before this weekend! Hopefully we can get another trip like this together in the coming months though. It would be awesome if we could get a bunch of Subies to go.

BTW, how was the AutoXing up there in Reno? Did anyone from the Sac area end up showing?

Steven, I, and Kevin (ban suvs) went. I called it quits after 1 day. I'm so tired I'm going to sleep after this post ...

I think I got the slowest Subaru times of the day Got 6 runs too.

I think I'll go up again on 6/28. I'll run in the afternoon on that day so no need to get up super early.
