Thumbs up MY02 WRX -vs- 350Z 1/4 mile --Video--

I went to the drag strip last night and raced a stock 350z and a modded Eagle Talon TSi and beat then both.

The 350Z was very, very close. I was ahead of him the entire time but at the end he caught up and almost passed me. I talked to him afterwards. I told him "It looked like you kicked in some NOS at the end there, you caught up so fast" and he said "It felt like you were braking at the end there, cause I caught up so fast".

I ran a 14.65 @ 91.85 (I need to work on launching and shifting)
He ran a 14.84 @ 95.76
Here is the Video!

Here is the video of me -vs- the Talon TSi
Sorry, no times for this one.

They didn't print out time slips, so I don't know my 60' and 1/8 mile times.

I take it you're bone stock? That guy in the 350Z should learn to drive better before getting a big head. 14.8 is pathetic.

I am not stock . As you can see under my name I have a gutted uppipe and a 3" turbo-back. The guy was not getting a big head, we were just casually talking afterward and we both agreed that he really closed the gap between us in the last 100 feet or so.

The only MBC I have considered is THIS ONE, which you can make yourself for about $12. But I think I am going to wait and save up for the more expensive, safer alternative (AccessECU Stage 2).

Not stock? I guess gutting the uppipe IS a bad idea. 14.6 is only good for a first timer in a stock 5spd. We really need to see the 60' and the 1/8 mile numbers. 91 mph is also pretty low.

1/4 tips with stock (or nearly stock) car:
1) Find the spot on the clutch where it just starts to engage, back off a teeny bit before that and hold.
2) Hold the throttle to about 4,000 rpm
3) When you see the secong yellow light up, floor the throttle and as it starts to pass 6,500 rpm, slip-drop the clutch and go.
4) Shift near redline from 1-2 and 2-3
5) Don't shift into 4th unless you hit the reve limiter.

Car's in Hoston with just a turbo back and uppipe are netting 13.9's. I think the traps are around 93-97 mph (4th sometimes necessary)
