Default Rough idle at 8000 miles on WRX could it be the fuel injectors?

02 WRX sedan with 8000 miles. Bought my car wrecked. I think that maybe from the time it was crashed, went to auction, I got it and replaced bent valves and frame that maybe a year went by where it didn't run. I'm concerned about the idle. Seems a little shaky to me. No CEL engine runs strong just don't like the idle.Thinking about cleaning the fuel injectors and not with some gas additive. Could this be the solution? Any advice?

Thanks -Scott

you buy it stock w/o any mods? it might have sti engine and tranny mounts, my idle got a bit rougher after putting those on. try resetting your ECU and see if that changes anything.

There's no harm in trying some fuel system cleaner.

Default welcome to subaru

most likely there is nothing wrong with it mine does the same thing....AND I LIKE IT....but that is just the way it feels from the pistons going side to side on the flat 4 boxer motors.

It's normal for the idle not to be perfectly smooth. Does it shake or miss occasionally, or is there a regular miss or lumpiness?
Might be worth pulling the plugs to see what they look like, also check fuel pressure and maybe change the fuel filter since it's easy to do and the car has been sitting around.
Also are you positive the valve timing is correct? It is possible for one or more cams to be off a bit and not set any codes.

It is a steady slight shake. After reading peoples comments I think it might be normal. Other people that get in the car aren't going to notice it. I notice because I'm always in it and I'm picky about stuff like that.
When you say valve timing are you talking about putting the timing belt on correctly?

Thanks -Scott

Timing belt was damaged So I put on a new one which had all the marks which made it very easy to install. Also studied service manual very closely.

Thanks

Wow I thought this thread was gone.
I have Valvoline 5-30 synthetic blend and it works great.
I think I was making a big deal out of nothing. Car runs great. Now I'm dealing with grease looking stuff coming out of my transmission. See picture here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...9&goto=newpost

Thanks -Scott
