I really want to have my car sold in like 3 weeks, and I'm not getting a bits on buying the car as is. So I can part out almost all of my car. Should I do it?

Yes, so I can get dibs on the ProECM.
![]() For real though, I think you'd probably get more $$$ if you part it out. Plus I'm sure you won't have a problem getting rid of most of those parts. EDIT: I think Chris wants the JDM tails. I'll call dibs for him too, cuz if he backs out, I'm calling seconds! ![]() Last edited by eclone; 06-04-2003 at 03:52 PM. |

More money to part it out but also alot more work, dont get a bad reputation for not sendin items because you get slammed with orders. Its happened many times.

Yep....part it out....almost always more difficult to sell a modded car than one that is bone stock.

Lakepop, one of us misunderstood what he wants. My impression is that he will part out the ENTIRE car, down to nothing. Not return it to stock and sell whats left.

If you part it out, I'd bet you can sell 95% of the aftermarket items right now. Dibs on the Kartboy Short shifter

And white knight on the Morrettes, I know a lot of people have expressed an interest in them. Maybe you could take a sealed bid silent auction type deal. ss |

Yeah, I've been wanting to do a bunch of upgrades for a while now. But I've been blowing all my "play" money for the past 4-6 months on a somewhat high $$ mountain bike build up.
But the bike is just about done So I'm back in the market for car parts...-Brian |

Selling a modified car takes more time, because one normally wants to get more for it than what it would be worth stock. And with good reason, but you need to find the RIGHT buyer. Plus, if you sell the parts individually, you have a much higher chance for making more money.

I should have first call on the morretts. i said i wanted them in the last thread. if you part out your car, i willl take the side skirts and the rear skirt. you could always try ebay. but on some items if you do not have your oem ones then say you will sell the part but want their oem one. so if someone gets the tail lights then say they must give you theirs.

ciper.......you will have to explain that one to me.
Standard proceedure is to sell the mods to recoup some $$$$ and then sell the unmodded car. Of course you will need to have the OEM parts to put back on....but if he had the foresight to save them....well there you go. Selling the car parts down to zilch is what yards do....not usually owners. Am I that far wrong............or did I misread the thread? ![]() |

Thank you all for replying...
What I need to do is sell my car to pay off the loan that I have one it. Now I'm not getting to many people that want it at this point So I called Cars for Cash to see what they would give me and its not enough to pay off the loan...I'm still hopping that some one wants the car with the mods on it. But at the end of next week I don't have a buyer I will part out the car... Now hole on guys.... I can't sell all the parts because I need the car to get as much as I can from Cars for Cash + parts to pay off my loan. The stuff that can't be sold or need stock parts. -Suspension(has 40K on it) -front and rear endlinks(got used) -side skirts and front and rear lip(wont sell) -exhaust(has 50K on it) -JDM grill(moded with my stock grill) -Morretts(Subaru service dep. guy has first dibs) That is my story as of this morning. -Mark SQC#012 |
