Peaty - As informed as you are with these cars, I am sure you know of the benefits of earthing the McIntosh. Tweak #1 IMHO. 4 or 5 bucks and a bit of time. Connect the earths from the strut towers directly to the minus terminal on the battery. I think you'll like it even more

Tell me more, what gauge wire should I use? I did the hot earth mod on my RS and there was only a slight difference in how the car ran.

You don't need to kill it m8, just some decent heat resistant cable, clean connex on the ends - sealed if you have the where with all to deal with heat shrink - nothing grand. All we did was connect those nasty factory earths direct to the battery. Presto! Clearer highs, less noise, pumped up bass

I am talking about mods for sound in this case, I've never earthed an H6 tho. It should be noted that unless your car is suffering from poor earthing in the first place, earthing it will not help performance significantly, but it should certainly help with audio performance

I can see I should do a page on earthing for the Legacy B4 site...with more detail and easier to understand pictures...now to find the time

The car is so much better built and put together than the '99 I almost can't believe its from the same company. From the interior trim to the way the doors sound when they shut is all markedly improved. I'm very impressed. Maybe she'll even let me drive it one day!

Think it needs some sideskirts to make the car look that much better.

Btw, how do those splash guards look? Its kinda hard to see from the angle in the pic.

Thanks! The side skirts come on the GT version but could be fitted on the SE, might be something to think about.

A slightly better veiw of the splash gaurds can be seen here: http://home.earthlink.net/~opiewho1/Legacy1.JPG , they are molded to contour the body and look great. I was considering having them painted but the dark blue and the black look good together.

Nope, similar but are cast using a different process than the GC-07's and end up being stronger and lighter!
