Default Possible to get Header/Exhaust before a turbo?

Would it make sense to get some Headers and exhaust before getting my turbo? I was thinking that I would get everything at the same time due the fact of going to a turbo would change everything.

well, if you're planning on running engine management too (not just a piggyback), this would be a good idea.

start off with the management alone. then get that tuned really well with your stock exhaust. then put on the exhaust and headers and get that tuned really well too. then put your turbo on (with all the other goodies or whatever) and then, hopefully your experience in tuning will pay off and you shouldn't risk doing any damage when you turbo.

With a bolt on turbo do I not have to get different Headers and Exhaust. So your also saying that I should get a ECU first, then the headers, then turbo?

you don't HAVE to get new headers and exhaust. it's a good idea though. and you won't find a "bolt on" turbo for your car. it just isn't that easy. you'll likely need a custom up-pipe and down-pipe, you'll likely need new fuel rails, possibly a new fuel pump (depends on how much power you'll need.

but to more directly answer your question, if you get aftermarket management, especially standalone, you would be better off to work on engine management first.

remember the motto: your first step in modifying is making sure everything works perfectly first, then add one thing at a time.

this is why you want to do engine management first. get everything working perfectly before you add too many variables. then try the headers/exhaust. then the final step.
