Well I ran out of cash for my Coilovers, that wad went to my kids. oh well. So until I can get some maybe by winter, what would be the closest thing. KYB and what springs? I still want a ride that corners well with my ALK and rear swaybar, and keeps the noise down while going fast. And for those who help me learn about Coilovers, I did decide to go with the TEIN. The CUSCO sounds great, but I just could not drop that much cash on them, the wife AND kids would leave me!

It'd be helpful to know what year your car is.

Anything else out there besides whiteline 30mm's and KYB's? Would like to drop the car maybe a inch and try to stop the roll on the car. Until I get some coilovers I am stuck witht the strut/spring combo.
thanks! |

You could go H&R (I know there is an application for BH's not sure about BE), KYB is coming out with GR2's in july. You can go Sti, but you get minimal drop and price is very near coilover price. You can source heaps of spring/shock combo's from Japan. Whiteline....hmm...not sure about much else. I'm going to give the H&R/GR2 combo a try or if I can afford it I will get the same shocks with Prodrive springs. Or if even more money becomes available I will get some 40mm DMS coil-overs.

Looks like I am stuck with KYB and some whitelines until I can get some JIC or TEIN coilovers later this year.

I've read some great reviews for KYB/Eibach combo. Cusco is too much? I went with that cuz it was the cheapest I could find...

i wasn't aware that kyb made struts for the 2000+ legacy in this country. they do make them for other markets, though.

I don’t know if they do or not. I am going to call a dealer today and see. I don’t think that Eibach makes anything for my car. Says nothing on there site. I would love something. I might just have to eat it until I can afford my coilovers. If can not find a good substitute soon I am going to drop the money on headers/exhaust instead.

KYB will be releasing the GR2's for the 2000 and up Legacy this summer. Supposedly they will be available in late July. This info was supplied to me by a salesman from KYB so I trust it is genuine.
I also have not heard of anything from Eibach for our cars. But I know H&R does and I'm waiting to hear back from Prodrive about their springs and what they fit. |
