Default WRX suspension?

Ok, so I checked out the stats, and my car starts at 2900lbs. The WRX starts at 3085. So, obviously, weight is not an issue when it comes to a swap. But, do we know if the new WRX struts will bolt into a BG Legacy? If there is a thread detailing this, I'm all fingers..

edit: at 106k miles, I think it's time to replace the stockers..

They may LAST that long, but that doesn't mean I want to be on them that whole time!

ask subysouth. He tried to use JDM suspension and it didn't work because of the strut tops on the rears I think.

Actually the gd/gg series struts bolt right up both front and rear. I installed a set of Ver8 takeoffs(standard not race-prepped) on my BG and they bolted right up. But suprise of suprises, the spring rates even off the GDB were too LOW. They were softer than my stock Leg GT springs. I am now in search of a set of of the race-prepped takeoffs for my car(RA, RA spec C, or spec C) in hopes that the higher spring rates will be better for my car.

The GC/GF series use different rear strut mounts from the BD/G and New age series Imprezas.

Yeah, they really suck ass by that point.

But that's what STi takeoffs are for!

Is the GDB the 02/03 Impreza? And they have softer spring rates? Is that including the WRX sedan and wagon?

New Age Imprezas = 2001+ JDM models(2002+ USDM models)

GDA = New Age Impreza or WRX sedan
GDB = New Age STi sedan(either "regular" or race-prepped)
GGA = New Age Impreza or WRX wagon
GGB = New Age STi wagon(regular only and for 2001-2 only)

JDM models:

GDBA = 2001 STi Sedan Ver 7
GDBB = 2002 STi Sedan Ver 7
GDBC = 2003 STi Sedan Ver 8

GGBA = 2001 STi Wagon
etc. etc.

The springs I had which were softer in the rears than my stock 97 BG GT springs were from a 2002 GDBC "regular" STi sedan. The WRX sprngs are even softer so I would not at all reccommend them. Besides the real bonus to the takeoffs are the inverted struts themselves. The Imprezas and WRXs use non-inverted struts.

I am currently searching for a set of STi race-prepped takeoffs to try on my car. They have even higher spring rates than the "regular" STi models so they might be the ticket.

Here the thread on my "install": http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=355788
