Default ej25t sti uppipe/downpipe and turbo on and ej20t wrx?

pls. point me in the right direction if this has already been posted before.

i had asked earlier about the possibility of installing a jdm vf37 twinscroll in a wrx, but that got nixed after finding out how hard it was to sort out the uppipe issues...

i'm also faced with annual emissions testing here, and i hadn't realized how expensive labor was to re/re the uppipe and downpipe.

so i was wondering if the new ej25t factory hardware with all the cats is a possible alternative, along with the turbo?

The EJ25 STi downpipe is almost identical to what comes on wrx's, dont waste your time with that. Same goes for JDM STi downpipes. The only part worth swapping is the uppipe.

If you can get every exhaust piece from the heads to the VF37, that should be a worthwhile upgrade. If not then the VF39 is supposedly similar to the VF30 and should start showing up fairly cheap.

i tried doing a search before posting but there is just too much info scattered all over the place.... but what makes the vf39 better or worse than a vf30?

also wondering if it's true that the usdm ej25t sti uppipe does not have a cat?

Yes its true, why would people lie about something like that?

Not enough info out on the VF39 to give you any more detail.

Because the size of the cat in the downpipe of the STI is a lot bigger than in a regular WRX.

The US STI upipe, turbo, downpipe and exhaust will bolt on without issue. The VF39 is larger then the VF30 only on the compressor side. I posted pics of the one we removed from our STI.

The VF37 swap is easy. Just get the manifold, upipe, turbo and downpipe. Then bolt it all on. Check with Axis power racing. They are about to or already have recieved a shipment of V8 motors... This will also allow you to run the super dope PE twin scroll turbo.

Everything in this world is for sale...... The VF39 does not need any special exhaust plumbing. The US STI is not twin scroll.

I went to my local dealer today, I gave him part number 44104FE090, I think he said it came up as joint pipe(hehe, don't remember for sure), $356.21 .
