I hear ya ken.

I've had my car hit 3 times in the past year. All times the car has been parked.....@#$@#$ idiots.

Hopefully I'm done with the accidents. Probably all three came out to be around 5000 with all the stuff I had to pay, or be paid......

Insurance(hers) not going to cover it? Why wouldn't you get it fixed? Could always go for an aftermarket rear bumper now..

i cant see the full extent of the damage here but id fix it and do what makes you happy. If you truely love the car keep it if you dont might as well sell it and wait for the monster you want to buy hah

Unhappy Ouuuch!

Poor you...

Hits around the base of the pillars can often tweak things a bit...hope it is still straight (assuming it can be fixed, and you want it fixed...).

Feel sorry for you, Ken. Keep your head up.

#1 is that you are OK.

CRAZY KEN - ouch @ least your wife and daughter are ok. Looks like it should be easily fixable. I've seen worse in the rear 1/4 and the "frame" was still straight.

subiekid - it's an iON/Brullen exhaust... Ken's got the full header-back.

Id say you have a good chance to total it, I remember a WRX with similar damage and it had a "bent trunk pan" if I remember right. Pretty expensive.

Unhappy

Damn, car crashes always suck. Best thing is that you are ok. And it appears as though you aren't at fault in this one.

I doubt that the car is totalled- it looks completely fixable.

Did you have extra coverage on your policy to cover the aftermarket parts?

Ken,

Hope you and your's are all okay. If you are planning to get a new 05 Legacy, then I'd fix this one and keep it going until you can get the new Legacy. I only say that because you still have a lot of life left in your 99 and the safety hasn't been compromised.

Now, and I absolutely despise myself for doing this but, if you do total it, allow me first dibs on your header back system.

Br, Dale

Smile Thanks guys/gals

Thanks everyone for all your concern and support!

You know its funny...I thought I would be really upset that my car was wrecked, but I wasn't!!! I didn't give a damn!!! I only cared about my family. Life truely changes when you start/have a family.

To clarify things, I wasn't involved in the accident...I was notified and quickly drove to the scene to take photos. The jaguar moved the car out of the scene of the accident into a parking lot, while my wife and child stayed in the car until the police arrived. According to my wife, the officer didn't take any pictures and had her move the car to the side. He made her get out of the car and take my child who was crying out from the back seat and sit on the side curb. She speak very little english, so when she was trying to explain what happened to the officer it didn't turn out very clear. Meanwhile the other officer was chit chatting with the lady in the jaguar smiling and what not and she's sitting comfortably in her jag!!! WHAT THE ****!!! My mom showed up on the scene first before me and was going off at the officers...by the time I got there I had to calm her down cause they were threatening to arrest my mother. I had the officer call an ambulance for my wife and daughter and had my mom escort them to Shady Grove, while I took photos, handled getting my car towed and finishing up dealing with the police.

What a day that was...

thanks for reading my venting comments!!!

CRAZY KEN

P.S. She had been driving my car for 3 months now...flawlessly...and then this!!! Well I guess I still have my Landcruiser!

glad you are ok most importantly.

funny, i was hit in the EXACT spot you were but a little harder. The cops were equally as stupid and said more or less in the police report that it was my fault even though i was hit and spun around 180 degrees. that time was the third time being rear ended in my legacy. i swear i've spent more time in rentals lately than not. it just went back in last week because all the seams had to be resealed.

something about legacys being magnets for other cars. they are just too damn good looking so people stop paying attention and hit them.

p.s.-every time i thing of getting rid of the car all i have to do is drive it.
