Default KKK K26 on eBay

Anybody know any info on this turbo? Like what it might have came off of or how much boost that wastegate will allow, etc.?

I believe it came off of some Porsche...Blitz uses a form of this turbo on their Turbo Kits...

I think it works like the VF series where the smaller the number the larger the turbo...

Assuming it boosts more than 4 psi, I wonder how hard it would be to find a 3-4 psi spring for it?

Your'e not gonna ever find an internal wastegate with that low a boost setting...

You will have to weld the internal Gate's flapper shut in the turbine, remove the internal gate completely and add a external wastegate to your UpPipe to acheive a 3-5psi boost setting

it's easy to get a 4psi actuator, my standard legacy VF12 cracks open at 5psi, gives 6-7psi on the road when connected direct

How is it possible to open a wastegate earlier than the spring is designed for?

You can hide the boost from a wastegate to achieve higher boost but a wastegate will not open at anything less than what its spring is set at...

You must mean that your VF12 opens at 5psi when hooked up directly and at 6-7psi when hooked up with the solenoid...

No, I mean if I pressurise the wastegate, it starts to open at 5psi.

If I connect the actuator direct to the turbo, I get about 6psi boost.

What you are missing, is that the wastegate has to open more than "just a crack" to reduce the boost when there is plenty of exhaust gas.

What do you think boost creep is?

Yup...if you have an internal wastegate with a 6psi spring...it will star to open at say 3-4psi and open more gradually till it gets fully open at 6psi. Thats why boost controllers let you get to max boost quicker...they hold the wastegate closed till the last second then fully open them.
