but i must say this rating system is a bit f*cked up. when someone has a "specialist" tag beside their name it implies, to me at least, that this person is a Subaru authority and that i should probably trust their judgement more than somone that is called a "newbie"

alot of people on this website; mods included, post predominantly in OT and their posts have nothing to do with Subarus. alot of the mods dont even have subarus, or seem to be intent on buying one.

i think people like glenn wallace, paul 'shirokuma' hansen, anotherB4, jon(in ct), sube555...etc.... should be apointed to positions like this (if they accept that is)

again this is not directed at you at all subiekid.
Currently only certain forums count for post count and user titles. To my knowledge it's mainly just the tech forums. OT does not count.

It used to be as you mentioned it, and they changed things.

i to do not think 550 posts should make you a specialsist. on legacy central they just have tags like newbie, staying for a while, i just post a lot, generaly interested, and then like expert and stuff. i think most of the guys on this board know more then the guys that work at subaru dealers, even work on them. i was talking to a mechanic and he didnt know how to change the air filter for the cabin. another didnt know how that you could just replace the bults in the havc controls. i am just trying to say that it would be really hard to come up with a way to get the real experts to be shown for thier expertice. some times those who we think are experts are just n00bs, and some of the realy smart guys just never post.

oh well, i am a specialist. and a dyslexic one at that.

usually the specialist title does mean something, even if someone posts a lot of questions in tech that they recieve credit for, they are getting those questions answered, so if they reach 555 posts on questions, they are that much smarter because they too now know the answers, making the specialist badge more appropriate.

Congrats subiekid and Cajual. As they say, you've attained another milestone, this one in your life as a Subaru owner or someone who is marking time until they can own one again (once an owner, always an owner . Lets thank all those who have gone on before us and continue to share their wealth of experience with us. Those folks are the sensei's (teachers) to me.
