Default Ratio of a Legacy Turbo (TIN TY752VJ1AA) speedometer gear?

Hey there...

Anyone know the speedo gear ratio of the 1993 Legacy Turbo transmission (TIN TY752VJ1AA)? I'm looking to see if it's the same as the WRX, as my speedometer appears to be a little lazy by about 8% after my conversion to that tranny...

Cheers,

/Andrew

Depending on where the speedo gear runs off of will probably affect things. I can look at the ratio when I get home, but more then likely they're going to be a little different.

They're both tapped off the front diff, and both front diffs are 3.90... I haven't had a chance to confirm that my speedometer is reading low, but I suspect it...

I don't have the manufacturer shop manual for the Legacy Turbo, but I knew someone here would. Just let me know what the ratio is, and I'll move on from there.

Thanks!

I sorta thought they were tapped into the front diffs......just wanted to check before I brought this issue up.

Actually the front diffs are different. The final drive ratio is the same, but the WRX has a 1.1:1 ratio in the front. Therefore the diff is going to be different. The turbo legacy did not have this "stepper" ratio.

I'll still let ya know what I find out when I get home.

Well, actually, the 1.1:1 ratio is the center transfer ratio in the WRX, and the rear diff is a 3.545 unit, while the front is still 3.9, which is the same as the Legacy Turbo unit.

Thanks for getting me the info whenever you get home... I'm so close to having this conversion at 100%... I just would like to have a slightly more accurate speedometer.

Thanks!

/Andrew
