What a steal! I got my 300ZX turbo with 89k miles on it (runs strong) for 520$. Hope you run into the same luck I did.

My sister sold her 78 or so yellow 510 for $280... Might be good for drifting, she lost control gettin on the freeway and ended up hitting the back quarter panel on something... It was a tough car tho. It got hit by a Tahoe at a light and only dented the back bumper, and also the back passenger quarter panel was hit by an animal control truck...

What year? I had a '70. Great car, bullet proof engine, rear wheel drive, called the poor man's BMW 2002. Rusted easily though which is one reason you don't see too many. Lots of after market stuff still available.

You could go old school and run twin side draft carbs or go hi tech with a SR20DET engine and 300ZX brakes yum!!!

I am confused, Santa Rosa doesn't have to comply with smog laws?

No, Santa Rosa isn't but I live out in the rural parts of Sonoma County, and so I'm exempt.

Where do you live? I didn't think there were any counties in California that is smog exempt. Are you completely exempt (exhaust without CARB paperwork, unlimited emissions modifications, etc) or just exempt from having to do smog checks every 2 or 4 years? thx

510s are sick cars. Ive seen rotary motors in them, sr20dets, ka24s. I used to know a guy who was REALLY into these things. He had 5. A wagon, a 2 door, a boxflare, and a few other beaters. He didnt really do much to take care of them, actually ive never seen more beat up cars. But he was a motor guru and would change motors almost weekley . I got a ride in his coupe with a ka24, its was ok. As far as drifting, i would go for an old 240sx before a 510. But remember 510s, are EASY to work on. You can pull a motor on one of those in an hour if youve done it a few times before, a few hours if never before. Also those things are LIGHT. But if u want a really like car, get a datsun 1200. This fool had one of those. It was beat to hell, but it was rwd, and it was so light i could pick up the rear end and move it around.
