Default How hot will outer surface of brake caliper actually get? Where to get hi-temp clear?

I just bought some engine paint to paint my StopTech BBK and noticed it's only 500 degree paint. I think brakes can get up to 1000 degrees or so on a track, but that is the rotor surface. How hot will the StopTech caliper surface, where the paint will be, actually get in extreme track conditions?
Also, does anyone know who makes or where to get a good high temp clear coat that would work on brakes? Thanks.

I'll tell you that VHT brake caliper paint cannot hold up to track use on stock calipers. They burned right up. Well not completely, but there are chared marks

G2 paint is good for up to 950 degrees, but I don't think they offer clear.

Curious - why/what are you painting in the Stoptech kit? The calipers already come in a really nice black or red finish.

Because that really nice black or red finish is $200 extra. Not worth it to me. Plus I wouldn't pay full price so I would only buy the kit used. Finding a used red kit is really hard, I've yet to see one for sale.

Yea, the non painted black is ok, but I prefer red. I already sanded them and taped them up so I'm almost there. I think VHT makes high temp clear. I'll look into that.
