MN eh? why dont i find girlfriends around rochester with good taste in cars

anyways, if i remember correctly from doing my searches long ago, the H&R's dropped it the most, but i mean some sites would post a bigger drop than others on the same springs, but this was before any were even out for the 00+ models. i ended up going with some coilovers but if she doesnt want the performance, h&r is a good brand, and check out whiteline for another option, as i believe they have springs for the BE's(your gf's car)

anyone else have some input?

Ben

Well, I am not sure about the maximum drop. However, I placed STi springs on my '01 GT. The car is stoopid low now. Do a search for finse in the bling bling thread for some pictures.

I've put whiteline springs on my 02 GT. Dropped it at least 2.25". The car is riding stupid low, but it looks very nice. Its got an even wheel gap all around each wheel. Looks very sharp. Very affordable too. About 420$-ish Cdn for the set of springs.

I am trying to find some struts for the car to go with anything other than whiteline...no luck. I can't find anything for H&R for MY00 BE, or struts.

I was thinking about going with some whitelines on my stock struts to help kill some of the roll, does anyone know if that would do it?

If not, there is NOTHING for 00+ but whiteline springs or coilovers. Then again coilovers are only like 1k more.

He meant by saying that you could always cut your stock springs. A typical ricer move only for show and will wreck any handling your leggy may have.

I have whitelines on stock struts and it killed the body roll. Mind you, theres still some, but now I can take highway onramps at pretty damned high speeds and not feel as if my car is going to flip. A definite improvement and it looks pretty damned sweet.

Im getting a rear adj. swaybar to finish off that roll and by then my car should rotate.

I had whitelines before. They lowered the car about 1.8" and about 2 after a couple months of settlement. They were pretty rough on the stock struts though.

I took them off and will be getting either H&Rs, Prodrives and KYB GR2's which will be out in July for our cars.

Default duluth

if this is from Duluth MN, you are not going to want to lower it all the way down... you'll be dragging on the roads... though i live in the twin cities, i lived in duluth for 5 years and it has some of the worst roads around.

here is the formula that worked for me

whiteline spring for the BE
GAB strut tower bar
Whiteline Front sway
Whiteline rear sway

In total, I am in to suspension around 500 bucks..... great investment

H&R does NOT make springs that fit the sedans, sti requires new top mounts, WHITELINE FITS PERFECTLY!!!!!

What is the "GAB strut tower bar"? Just a standard strut bar right?

I think so, but I've never heard of GAB before.

Why not go all out like I did and go STi? Pink looks great in the engine bay.

H&R should fit, but I'm guessing the rear spring rates would be different. (Unless sedans have different fitment than wagons??) Are you sure whitelines fit directly in? I had to install GC8 topmounts on the front to install whitelines on my car. Is our front spring diameter (coil diameter) different?

They fit on the stock perches and with the stock tophats. Front and rear.

No problems at all.

Yes. They make the FLEX and the CS for the sedans. JoeT has the CS, and you can get the FLEX that works with the EDFC unit. I have had a few vendors tell me that you can, one has told me that you have to get some new top mounts. I have gotten quotes from $1398 complete to what http://godspeed.hack.net/tein.html has them marked.
I am leaning towards teh JIC. CUSCO are nice just alot of money.

Well I ordered the Prodrive springs and mounting stuff for my Legacy today.
I will have to wait until the GR2's come out later to swap out the struts. I have found that the serial numbers are out on GR2's for us BE/BH users, but nothing on when they ship.
Will let you guys know how it goes with the springs stock combo.
