Okay, in the continuing quest for molesting an OB........
One of the local club guys said he'd give me WRX wagon springs (free)...... So I'm thinking; the weights for the GG's and the BG's are similar, they're both wagon setups, my OBshocks still seem to be good, and were stiffer than RS units...... Will WRX wagon springs fit on an OB (I know this is uncharted, but let's just say BG, then) struts and topmounts? Looking at the spring diameter post, the seats on the Legacy struts/top mounts are 134mm, while WRX's are 130.....so I'm talking a 2mm offset on the spring perch.... How horrible an idea is this, given that I'm not trying to get the car on the ground, just get rid of a little bit of gap?

i think you'll need new upper spring perches and the rubber things in the front. i wasn't able to fit legacy springs on wrx wagon spring perches.
i've got a box of various suspension parts and may have a set or two of the impreza pieces. pm me if interested. |

iirc, springs were bigger than the rubber rings and metal perches.

so in simple terms, the diamiter of the springs is what causes them to not be interchangable.

right.
I realize they're different diameters. Not having messed with the suspension too much, I wasn't sure if it was a small enough difference that it would work. Here's the other curiousity ![]() I was able to build up a spring/strut combo that fit together fine (though I didn't end up using it) with RS struts, OB springs, and OB strut tops and the RS bottoms are supposedly 141mm according to the Whiteline data hmmmmmmmmmmmmm |
