Question variable valve timing for Legacy: could it work?

What do you guys think?

Subaru put variable valve timing into its new Forester line for '04 (I heard). Both models currently use the same 165hp engine. Could Subaru be putting vvt into its base Legacy cars for '04 to complement the twin turbo (or am I kidding myself here)?

Some of your comments confuse me....

The only vvt (or AVCS) in the Forester I'm aware of is in the Turbo Forester. That is certainly not 165 hp, it's 210 hp. The Legacy has been redesigned and will be here in 6-8 months. It's assumed that the Legacy will get some variant of the Turbo Forester engine, but probably tuned somewhere between the Forester and the STi. Say, 240-270 hp. No North American Subarus have twin turbos, that was the B4 in Japan/Europe/Australia, etc. There's a rumor of a twin turbo H6, but nobody anywhere on the planet has that on the road yet.

Oops... apologies,

I remember that the variable valve timing version of the new Forester has 210hp. What I meant to say was whether that sort of variable valve timing could ever wind up in naturally-aspirated versions of their engine designs.
