Default Political: Do you think Bush will try to shift our attention with Iran ?

Do you think shrubCo will now try and shift the attention of the US public away from Saddam, Bin Laden & WMD to Iran's nukes?

"Washington believes Iran is developing a nuclear arms capability and rejects Tehran's insistence that it is developing nuclear facilities to provide electricity."

Iran has loads of oil; why would they need nuclear power for electricity? They are almost certainly working on a bomb. I do think we should be paying attention; Iran is one of the main supporters of terrorist groups.

You can say the same things about Pakistan and some parts of India and both of them have nukes. But yes you are right about them not needing nuclear power since they are sitting on top of one of the largest oil reserves in the world.

The point i am trying to make is do you think shrubCo will try and use this problem with Iran as a way to hide the mistakes in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Well let's see...

He can't find Saddam, he can't find Osama, he can't find any WMD's. You bet Teh Shrub is going to distract us with Iran!

In a related note, I was listening to the news this morning and there was a thing about Iran's Nukes....

The Iranians claim that their Nuclear Abilities are ONLY to produce power. The American response was "why would Iran want Nuclear Power when they have tons of OIL!?!?!" Gee, maybe because Nuclear Power is cleaner and more reliable?

We're so screwed.

Not to defend anyone but Iran can make a better profit by selling the oil instead of using it to make electricity.

I'm just trying to see every angle of this.

BUT ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!

Bush's domestic Policy is a trainwreck, if he hopes to have any chance of being re-elected, he's going to have to distract the public with another war.

Either that or some how capture / kill Bin Laden or Saddam. I highly doubt he will be able to do that since he has already had 2+ years to get Bin Laden and 6+ months for Saddam.

oh and a funny link that was just posted to me on irc.

http://www.senate.gov/~hatch/index.c...=Students.Utah

Click on a certain search image on the page for a surprise. It looks like the Senator has pissed off a couple hax0rs. (Not work safe)

Nah, he'll just wave the saber. The insurgents in Iraq will cause too much trouble/too many casualties for us if we actually invade Iran too.

So Mike, why doesn't Iran have the right to have nuclear power or nuclear arms? Shouldn't it be their right to do what they want with their property? And they're like a private party...

Warning points? Bah! Bush will be re-elected. And then you guys can have more polls bitching about the greatness that he is. He reminds me of Theodore Roosevelt. Teddy took out Spain from Cuba and the Philippines, souped up the Navy and Army and rattled his saber like there was no tomorrow! He hated Woodrow Wilson for being an isolationist and tried to win back the election just so he could get the US to join the Allies.

Anyway....Iran....what the hell do they need nuclear plants for? Are they low on oil?
