Do I need a jdm front bumper beam for a cwest front bumper?

I have a cwest front bumper, i tried to get it to fit on my 01 rs's bumper beam, didnt happen, tried modding the beam... didnt work. Do i need a jdm front bumper beam? A lobotomy? Where would i go about obtaining one? Thanks

Yes ... you do need a JDM front bumper beam. YOu can also run without your bumper beam all together.

www.subaruparts.com carries them i believe.

Just make ur US spec bumper beam fit with a cut off wheel. The Jap spec is a waste of money - especially if u get a fmic.

i tried cutting it up... no luck. I jsut ordered a japanese one for 85 bux shipped.

My factory beam was modified for fitment, for my Cwest bumper.

did you modify it yourself, or did a shop? Do you have anypictures of your car?

The bodyshop did it when they were putting everything together.

I was running without a bumper beam for about two months. Just removed the two bolts on each side that hold the bumper beam in place and it just pops off.

Just got the JDM bumper beam last week. 70lbs vs 14lbs. The extra weight of the US spec make J spec bumpers not fit.

Just get the JDM bumper beam ... at least you have 'protection'

It isn't that hard to install it. It directly bolts on once you take out the stock bumper beam.

There are two big bolts on each side(both near the headlamp assemby). Once you have the bumper off, take the pair of bolts on each side, the bumper beam just pops off.

Pop the new bumper beam in and screw the bolts, then you're done!

I'll try to post some photos later of the location of the bolts.
