Default Sighting/WARNING: Blue WRX being serviced or worked on at Stevens Creek Subaru!!

This is a WARNING to whoever owns the blue WRX that is at Stevens Creek Subaru at this Very Moment:

I was just at Stevens Creek Subaru less than 30 minutes ago. I brought my mom there to look at Foresters(no intention of buying from Stevens Creek cause of their reputation). As i was on the lot i saw a Blue WRX with silver/gray rims, tint, exhaust, and a BOV. And i'm pretty sure it was being serviced there, or at least a customers car or something. I know for a fact it wasn't a dealership car. Well anyways, i see one of the people who works at the subaru dealership get in the car. He then Proceeds to the exit of the parking lot to turn right onto stevens creek. He Floors it all out speeding away almost hitting redline. That pissed me off because i know that the people at the dealership have no right to drive somebody elses car like that, and if i saw somebody drive mine like that i would be pretty ticked off.

Well as i leave the dealership and am headed home, I see the same blue WRX sitting at a light infront of me headed back towards the dealership. The light turns green, and i see the car take off really fast, and i mean that thing was launched and just took of speeding away.

I really just wanted to post this for 2 reasons: 1. In hope that the owner of the WRX reads this and knows what they're doing with his car when he's not there. and 2. So that anybody who somehow hasn't yet Heard bad stuff about Stevens Creek Subaru can see what they do.

the funny part is that you could follow the tech back to the dealer, approach him right after he gets out of the car, and ask him "are you guys supposed to launch customer cars at 4 thousand RPMs and drive them at WOT?" and the guy would just say "i didn't just drive that car, what are you talking about?"

they are so fond of lying that it makes me want to... well you get the idea.

UTEC can't change the redline, only an ECUtek (plus DeltaDash for user control -- $$$) or AccessECU (not user adjustable) or standalone.

I was pretty sure you could set a rev-limiter with a UTEC, Dee was bouncing off his pretty hard a few weeks back

That's launch control, which changes the rev-limit only when you have the clutch in.

I got a UTEC Thursday and in the meantime have become pretty intimate with the manual and the available options. There's no option in the UTEC to change the rev limit when the clutch is out.

Yes, it seems odd that it would be able to change the rev limit when the clutch is in, but not give the user option to change it with the clutch out, but that's the way it is.

Also variables like that are global in the UTEC and affect ALL maps. There would be no way to have a single map that had a variable like this different from the others. So, you'd have to change it with your laptop right before the valet/mechanic took the car, then unplug the laptop.

This may change in later versions of the firmware, but right now, there is no way to change the actual rev limit of the car with the UTEC.

That is unforgiveable if its a customer's car.

It could also have been someone who worked there who owns a modded wrx. Not inconceivable.

I hate to play the Devil's Advocate here, (especially since that was such a terrible movie) but I've been taking my WRX wagon to Steven's Creek since Day One, and haven't had a bit of trouble. I dunno.. it's like finding a great pizza place and having everyone tell you how awful the pizza is. It's gonna be hard to convince people that really like that pizza otherwise.

Not only that, but the tech who stole it was using it as a getaway car for robberies.

Great pizzas.....can't complain.
If someone tells you that the kitchen is extremely dirty and unsanitary, would you still go to that place, despite the great pizzas?

Well see, i doubt it would belong to the person working there because i doubt that in the middle of working you are allowed to get in your own car and just drive fast down the street. I'm pretty sure he was driving a customers car.

Most people at Stevens Creek aren't smart enough to mod a car. They tried to convince me back in 2002 that they had an STi, but it was just an 02 WRX with a shift knob and steering wheel mounted boost gauge... I kept telling him those were just factory options and he would just keep saying, "No! It's an STi!!!" Then proceeded to yell at me because i think i know more than him.
Every employee i've talked to from there is STUPID and RUDE andi truly hope they all somehow get leeches stuck on their testicles.

It is. I once had a dealer try to tell me that Acura never made a 92/93 Integra GS-R. Even after I told him the engine code, years, hp and torque ratings, he still didn't believe me.

What a dumb ass.

HAHAHAHA!!!! They NEVER made a 92-93 GS-R!!! HAHA! A couple dealers and MANY people have told me the same thing when I would drive up in my 92 GS-R or when I would go inside for parts or something. I have gotten in SOOOO many arguments with people about my car. I can lift up the hood and show them the B17a and they would tell me that there is no such motor. Stupid people.
