Default Need help with gears in tranny

Does anyone know how to work on the gears in the tranny? I have the tranny off the car and I have the subaru service manual but I've never rebuild a tranny so if anyone so kind can meet me and help me with my tranny then I'll treat them to a dinner. Or lunch.

WOW, good luck. I think at a minimum you need a gear press. I think there are also several other specialized tools to work on a Suby transmission, but I may be wrong.

Really Good LUck!

I let my brother borrow my car for the night. And he decides to race a Mustang. He floors the gas and drops the clutch. Blew first gear. Now I'm stuck in this hell trying to fix the tranny. So everybody DO NOT let your brother drive your car. Unless you want a new tranny.

yeah, i don't think many people on these boards have rebuilt these trannies.

actually, try PMing sponaugle. i've seen pics of him with a tranny apart, so he may at least be able to point you in the right direction.

Hey,
I don't have much experience with trannies, but this Friday morning/afternoon I could come to your place and help out. Do you have the new parts that will be needed in order to fix it? Maybe if not this friday, some other time.
