Default I am Tainted...

As if tommorrow come 6:00, the Legacy will recieve full duty as being my daily tranportation and a 90 5 Speed Nissan 240sx will take over th sole responsibility of becoming my money pit (see also "project car"). The Legacy has served it purpose well up to this point but it was always lacking one thing...power.

I wil continue to be an active part of the community and will still mod the Leagacty in ways that make it more stylish, more comfortable, and more Subaru like. I just cant argue with RWD though.

ps: Im already lining up shops for an sr20det swap into the Nissan. Wish me luck

Default Check this place out for your engine

This is my friend's place. They do all kinds of swaps/work/etc. We are not too far from phillipsburg. The shop is in Kingston, PA which is right outside of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Call or email them and tell them that Nathan sent you. They can definitely get that motor for the Nissan; the price of the motor should make it very cost effective to drive all the way out there also. They are good guys, check them out.

Thumbs up

Good to hear about your project 240. I'm jealous.

Make sure you say hello to the guys at www.srswap.com

I've met Yury, and seen his white 240 up close. The SR install was absolutely gorgeous...

Good luck- Brian

Shops that do the swap often set a flat rate of $5k for the swap. ($2700 for jdm front clip, $2000 labor, and another $300 extra to cover any unexpected costs). Average downtime is about 2 weeks. The price listed above is for a shop located in Georga that I found but is a typical price. The shop will also tune the engine at the time of swap for any performance parts you purchase from them along with the swap (for free).

Georgia? Is it Unstable Hybrids? How are they doing these days?

Though U-H has a pretty good reputation, I can't believe you'd go all the way to Georgia. Heavy Throttle has a shop in Poughkeepsie, I think. Aren't you in NJ?

And there was someone else doing swaps in the metro-NY area as well, though I can't recall who it is right now. But I think Yury has some good connections with a couple other shops.

Really, drop him a line. He's a great guy, and their shop does really nice work. And I've been karting with him at F1 Boston.

Yea, Unstable Hybrids was the shop. Im not looking to go all the way to Georgia, I was just looking at pricing online to get an idea as to what I would be spending.

And my car that will be getting the engine only cost me 700 bucks. Granted it needs some new paint but its all good.
