Default My Evo VIII - now faster than my STI was - 11.80 @ 118.57 on the stock turbo!

Stock turbo - stock injectors - stock clutch - stock block and heads !!!!!

I can't belive that in 3 short months and a few easy bolt ons my EVO was able to out gun my best time even in my WRX/STI !! It took me two years of hard work to get my WRX under 12.00 and this evo does it with total ease!

Sick time. That was with N20 I assume? I wonder what how much power she'll make before internals and/or tranny work is needed. With a trap of 118 you must be making upwards of 320 awhp.

What mods do you have currently on your car? How's the spoolup with a 2.0 liter motor on the twin scroll turbo too?

Congradulations Al! Once again you break ground on the performance world. That is certainly the fastest pass I have heard from an EVO8. I expect alot more from this car and cant wait to see the progress you make. I predict you will be able to get this car down to 11 flat, Drive it home and drive it to work on monday. But, you are certainly at the point of high $ for performance now. To go to that next level will cost thousands and thousands of dollars and will probably compromise the cars reliability... I say leave it! I know you wont...

If Al gets to a reasonable weight, he can shave another couple tenths off that time!

Just kidding Al!! Awesome job, we'll miss you at this years Subaru Shootout.

did U weigh your car at the track?? or what are the EVO's weight stock?

I drove my friends today, I could really feel the power, but don't really like to get on it in someone elses car.

U say it took you two yrs. to get to those times, and now only a little time w/ your EVO, isn't that like saying you could of bought a cobra or vette and did the same, the cars cost more, so they are faster from the get go.

Congrats on your times, did U say what U did different this time.

It's a great accomplishment.

I am, though, more impressed by AutoMotosports.com's Evo VIII.

Their car went 12.0 at 113mph with less mods and without nitrous. Here are the mods on that car.

AMS EVO8 downpipe-& cat-back
K&N air filter
AMS manual boost controller
AMS MAF pipe
Apexi S-AFC
HKS 272/272 cams
Lightweight battery (10.5lbs compared to stock 35lbs battery)

Well done... however poor comparison with the STi.

You did not have the STi conversion for too long (of the 2 years you spent with the WRX) when you broke 11s with it... that in the mid-120s.

I am pretty sure your WRX and STi experience has helped you pave your way to the fastest US EVO.

Its amazing what experience does. This first time I did anything on my car seemed to take forever... now I can do most tasks in my sleep.

Again... congrats!

BTW- how much boost and N20 did you run on that STi motor @ Beaver Springs? And then you drove it home.... thats impressive.

Default Wow !

An Inline four cylinder with Heads. I have worked on Mitsubishi cars for years. I am guessing it wont last much beyond 60k without problems in the engine. Good luck with the trans also.
