Not hitting full boost, is it the turbo?

I have a T3/T4 turbonetic turbo with 440cc injectors and LinkPlus E.M. and a supra fuel pump and 3in. exhaust. Anyway, when i floor it, i dont reach full boost (only 6psi) until about 5kRPM or higher. Should i get my turbo rebuilt? Would that solve/help this problem? My car was dyno-tuned last year, but its always taken a while to hit full boost, just seems to be getting a bit worse.

The turbo is about 3 years old. Thanks in advance.

What kind of wastegate are you using? Is it a Deltagate? I would think it would probably be the wastegate instead of the turbo(hopefully).

Forgot to mention that, it is a turbonetics deltagate. Is that more likely the "culprit"?

Which wastegate are you running? You may need to replace your gaskets on the wastegate (both of them). Also do you have Link controlling boost or are you running just the spring?

I'm willing to bet its the gaskets cause I had the same problem. As mentioned before on this borad get the gaskets made for the Deltagate Wastegates.

Another thing i forgot to mention, i have a MBC and i know they can drift low, but i can hit 6psi which is where it is set it just takes a while.
Thanks for the tip, i think i will try that. That place is only like 20 minutes from me too!

The deltagate could be the problem

Get a Tial 35mm and a 2-port boost control solenoid from Link (expensive one) and you'll have lots of fun

I'm short on money, do you think the gasket can be a temporary fix? Where did you get your solenoid from and how much? Thanks.

The solenoid was purchased from AMR last year..I think at that time the price was around $250.

The gasket leak could be the problem. Check for leaks first on both ends of the wastegate. If you feel any leaks specially where the wastegate is bolted to the up-pipe that could be your problem.

If not then its time to get a Tial
