Default ever wonder?...

has anyone ever done, or ever wondered what it would be like to put pre98 impreza springs on a 97 legacy GT? well i have lol. the spring's were intrax, rated at 2.2" drop for a 98 and below impreza sedan. today i got off work at 5 went to my buddies garage and began this task. first off let me tell you how much of a pain it is to get at the rear strut tower's in a leg. sedan, but once i figured out how to take the seat out, i found them. fronts went on w/o a problem, they were quite easy. the rears then next.... i think the worst part was removing that third lil bastard nut underneath the seatbelt retract unit, it wasnt hard i guess, just tedious due to the 2" area i had to move the wrench. well once theyre all done, the jack stand lowered and all i have to say is holy crap is it low. im very tired right now so i promise pics tomorrow. some more things to add, almost all of the body roll was eliminated along w/ the handling capabilities have amazingly increased like no other. one of the best things i couldve bought for her. please ask me some questions and id be happy to answer, also some thoughts, and concerns lol. till tomrrow.

Phil

For future reference, or anyone else planning on doing springs/struts.

Remove the seatbelt holder assembly and it makes that third nut much easier. Other option is get the ratcheting wrenches from craftsman.
