Default To street race or not to street race that is the ??

Ok for example tonight I was out and about in my WRX I have the Cobbstg 2 plus upipe and thats it. I was at the local ahng spot and these guys that were around kept sayin " man you need to race this and this car" and I was like" no thats ok I don't drag my car" and they are like "why?" and I said " well seein as how I am plannin to keep my car for awhile I will mod it and drive it spiritedly but not race it" and of course they came back with are you scared your goin to get beat, and the ever alusive P word that rhymes with wussy but anywho. Also at the moment I don't have 5k to drop on a new tranny either. But ? is what you all have done in a situation like this??? I myself am not a big fan of .25 times I like actuall track racing thing is there isn't to much auto-X around here sooooooooo I guess I am just screwed

If you are really that insecure that you are going to be taunted into racing some yahoos on the street, may I suggest something. Find the closest dragstrip. Call them and ask if they have any pamphlets... if they do, drive there and pick some up. If not, go to their website and print out a page that has the name and address on it.

Then the next time you almost succumb to the schoolyard taunting tactics of some whacko "street racer", tell them to meet you at the track and hand them whatever literature you are able to get about the dragstrip.

Don't do it if you don't feel comfortable with it. A lot of **** can go down when you get two cars on public roads at high speeds. what was he trying to race you with? Civic? Teg? Most likely.

just talk some smack back.

"Yeah, I'm really scared of your 16.5 sec beast"

bitches will be bitches, no way around it.

Thrdeye, It was an eclipse gs and a older turbo eclipse with an intake, turbo and a BOV

Avzay, thats what I said that I just don't race and they were like then why did you buy the car and make it go faster, and I replied it makes it funner to drive. So yes I wouldn't bother with them either cause they do seem a bit immature.

there are plenty of cars that are faster than wrx and they sure are not made for racing some idiots. i understand making your car faster just for fun....some people take this whole competitive thing way too seriously.
