Default 04 1st time...advice please...i cant launch right

First time at the track with my 04. Only mod is HKS exhaust (17" rota actions if that matters)

I cant figure out how to launch this thing man. I didnt want to dump the clutch pegged at 6 or whatever. I read alot on here and tried different things. Heres my results. I had my 12 sub box in the back also.

My first 3 runs went 15.6, 15.5 and a 15.2..

The last run I made with a passenger since i wasent expecting much better but to my surprise got a 14.8. 3rd gear was almost at redline when i went across the finish line.

Reaction: .958
60' : 2.0
ET: 14.8
MPH: 91

I really think I can get into the low 14's with some more practice. Any advice would be appreciated. I am planning a down pipe and COBB chip as soon as the maps are complete. I wondering what i should expect for times with that setup.

Thanks

-mark

your 60' could be better. Even my little 2.5 RS can make it in under 2 seconds. i am no expert though. I'm just giving a free bump basically.

i find that pumping the gas between 4k-5k then slipping it out a little then when your rolling about 5mph(you really dont have to look you'll know when your there) just dump it out all the way and you'll be trown back in to your seat. ive got the same mods as you except 17in rims and i managed to pull 14.4. hope this helps

oh it takes practice you'll know your doing it right when you dont smell your clutch

You should made at least 14.6. Launch at 6000 and make power shifting (throw the gears with the gas down) if you are not very skilled with this, try to make it in 2nd gear at least, this is very important because you are maximazing the power of the launch. For me 2nd is easy, just synchronize the shifting with a very fast pressing and releasing of the clutch.
