How much gas is left when the low gas light comes on?

How much gas is left when the low gas light comes on?

Today I went to work as usual and was planning to get gas on the way home because I knew I was low. But one of our clients had an emergency and I had to go into the city, so I drove to the train station and parked my car, and the low gas light came on. I am wondering if I'll be able to make it back to a Mobil or Sunoco, only thing I passed on the way there was some Getty or Gulf or something

I believe it is a little over 2 gallons when the light comes on. someone correct me if i am wrong

4 gallons. gas light was on for about 20 miles, and then filled up 12.x gallons. sooo...its about 4 gallons.

In april I had the fuel light come on only to find out that I had forgotten my wallet. I was 70 KM from home. I could not reach anybody for help... so I tried to really really drive economicly ... I ran out of gas at 64.9 KM.

That was with a 03 WRX.

The Sti is another beast, I would guess you could go 50 km.

i would say anywhere between 30-40 miles

Woah ok. I'm safe then, I only need to go like 5-10 miles. I don't normally drive with the gas light on. In fact I think the last time my low gas light came on in a car of mine was sometime in high school

just be careful if you're in town, you never know when you're going to get an unexpected traffic jam in philly. but you should have plenty of range barring the most extreme circumstances.

I believe I read in the manual that the light comes on when the sensor believes that you have only 2 gallons left and that the light will not go off until it reads over 4 gallons.

If you just stay in a high gear and don't accelerate any harder than necessary, you should be able to make it over 30 miles safely.
