Stock v8 motor, with homemade 3" exhaust and vibrant cat. Stock intake.
It was a cheaper way of fixing my 205 with a spun rod bearing.

Looks almost identical to the plot from mine, and I went for a full dyno tune with $3k worth of exhaust, plus I kept the AVCS.

Need to go find that plot actually.. hmm. Oh and I did mine for the very same reason, I blamed the 04-05 OL/CL surging issue for mine.

The motor was $3600, and all the other BS was $2-3K. Did timing belts, clutch, new radiator at the same time. Need a fancy twinscroll exhaust too. I bought a cast turbo outlet and a ****ty ebay exhaust. I cut the bell mouth off the downpipe and put a flange on it to mount to the outlet. That saved $500 or similar, but its loud and scrapes. I need to find someone looking for a louder exhaust and selling their quiet one. I used to see those in the for sale ads, but now that I need something, they are gone.

^ Good luck on the twinscroll exhaust mani

There is a 06' STI being parted out here in Richmond if you are interested in taking a look. Stock 06' downpipe + catback. Would that work for you?

I was thinking of a borla hush (are they quiet?) or similar, I just need the cat back as I can chop everything up and weld it back together to fit.

Stock STi catbacks are pretty quiet. Cheaper than Borla too, seeing that you spent over 6k already, try to save you some moola :P

Yeah I had a stock STi catback on mine for a month or so and it was very quiet.

In fact when I picked the car up the first day and was driving it like a baby, I barely noticed any major difference with the new motor. It wasn't until I went to merge on the highway that I noticed the engine pulling a lot harder with none of the usual power loss at higher RPMs.

I still have the entire STi exhaust too.. just in case I get a noise ticket or inspection notice or something. I should sell it but I'm over on the island.

315 (an S). And the Alpins made it pretty easy - perfectly balanced little car.
