the more i see it the more i like it. i just cant see spending that on a hood. but then seeing a car in my color ( alomost) with a cf hood i really like it.

can you tell me the weight savings it would have, i would like to see lbs of stock hood and then this one.

subiekid - the hood weighs in ~12lbs vs. the 50lbs+ stock GT hood.

FYI the Hipposleek CF hood for the BD/BG's is over $900US+shipping from Japan. So that's just some food for thought

i will be out of town from the 12th to the 18th. pm me.

thanks gtbguy.

that is crazy for the weight savings.

would hood pins be a good idea? not sure if they would help but since its so light is there a chance it would just fly off?

i would hate to have hood pins, i hate the look of them. ugg and all the guys around here have them but they are not functional, just stick on with tape.

It is ALWAYS a good idea to put on hood pins for a CF hood, I've seen too many accidents otherwise. I also think there are different kinds of hood pins, so you might find one that you like. If it's the color, I suppose you could always paint them.

subiekid - hood pins are just an extra safety precaution. However the latching mechanism is taken right off the stock hood. Hence you shouldn't have any issues. cfwdfw doesn't have pins on his hood. He's been rally-x'ing his car with the fiberglass version on which is ~4-6lbs heavier then the CF one.

subiekid- pm'ng you now, also i agree with gtbguy on the percaution the pins represent. I've had a hood go up on me and it's probably one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me while driving. so it's a matter of personal preference.

Plus whatever the import duties are
I just the import people call me Friday wanting a CC# and other info so they can pay for the paperwork and duties. This is getting expensive (when PayPal charges are added as well).

GTBGuy, or anyone else in the states, what are these import charges, I mean how much and did others get tagged?

I thought I was getting it "Paid and shipped", but did not realize the other stuff, If nothing else, keep it mind.

Charlie-III - there should be no import duties charged as it's qualified under NAFTA. The only thing you may pay for is for Customs Brokerage which is paid to the company that does the customs paper work for you.
