Exclamation might sell MY92 SVX turbo

Yes, that's right. I'm thinking about selling my MY92 SVX that I recently had turbo'd. Lots of cool things on the car. New Clarion CD w/ remote and CD-changer controls, Kenwood 6x9's and 5 1/4 component fronts.

Also has new brakes, PIAA platinum H3 fogs, Sylvania Cool Blue head lights, Tranny cooler, Kuhmo Ecsta 712's in stock size and of course, the T3 turbo. Only has 65k miles on it, white with black top.

Can be seen @ http://www.kastle.net/personal/subaru/index_svx.php3.

Not sure on price, but am seeking options / opinions.

Wow, nice car. But why are you thinking of selling it? Especially with the turbo now? Gotta ask...

Well, it's like this. I have the SVX and I have a MY00 Impreza. I miss driving the Impreza and am thinking about getting a Legacy for my girlfriend. She doesn't enjoy the SVX much (too short) and doesn't like it turbo'd.

The car itself is great. Lots of fun to drive, but I don't enjoy it as much as the Impreza. Maybe it's cause the SVX is a auto and the Impreza is a manual.

I'll be putting up 0-60 & 1/4 mile times next week, most likely late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Greetings,

If it came down to a TURBO SVX or my girlfriend...hmmm...well...let's see...TURBO SVX or girlfriend...TURBO SVX OR girlfriend...

Unless you plan on marrying this gal...dump her!!! No seriously...if she loves you then she should be willing to "settle" for the TURBO SVX.

You have now obtained the HOLY GRAIL of SVXdom...don't give up the quest now.

Oh the humanity...

Wow, I never thought that someone would say something like that and shoot that low.

I've been with my girlfriend for 6 1/2 years, and someday we will get married. She is the perfect woman for me. She never tells me what to do, who I can be friends with, and never gets jealous. When I bought the SVX, I already had a MY00 Impreza. She didn't tell me I couldn't get the SVX. She said, "If that's what you want to do, then I support you". Same thing when I told her that I was going to put the turbo into the SVX. She said the same thing.

I'd never do anything if only she didn't like it. That's her problem, not mine. I drive the SVX mostly, about 95% of the time that it gets driven, kinda like a daily driver. I miss driving my Impreza all the time.

I don't expect everyone to understand why I might sell the SVX-T. Sometimes you do things because you feel it is right. Sometimes you do things cause it's what you want to do.

-ps. don't take this personally, anyone, as I figured that I would end up posting something like this as I knew everyone would think I was crazy.... I'm not yet crazy.....

Greetings,

"Unless you plan on marrying this gal..." My qualifier.

Just to remind everyone that I am not completely heartless...

I made the above comment as I know (but don't understand) how women behave...(married for 4.5 years).

I have dated women in the past (read past) who have expected/demanded things of myself which I did not want or feel were necessary or appropriate at that stage in our relationship. 6.5 years sounds like a good solid relationship...but...don't sell the SVX because she wants you to...only sell it if YOU want to!

BTW...I don't take it personally and didn't intend for it to be "a low blow". It was in jest...

Have a safe and Happy New Year...

Wink

LOL... Maybe you should see which fetches the better price, the car or the girlfriend.

Just Kidding

Sell the SVX and buy that girl the car she really wants. Although a turbo SVX is a really cool car, I'm not all that fond of turbos or automatics myself. Personally, I like a little throttle response. Oh, and a little room to carry things when I need to.

I had a similar situation when I was shopping before I bought the RS. I really liked the Ford SVT Contour - cool car. Although I don't like FWD performance cars, I thought the 4-door would make a good compromise. Unfortunately, my wife hated it. Too short in the back seat. It didn't work as a compromise. So, I waited and bought the RS when it was available in 2000 in a 4-door. Boy am I glad I did! If you want your RS back, buy the car she really wants. Then turbocharge the RS!

Remember Indiana Jones! Choose your holy grail wisely.

Talking

Sorry for the greatly delayed response, I was up in Vegas for the New Years Celebration. Had a great time too. I even took the SVX-T up there. What a fun ride....

PSKI, I understand what you were getting at and truely understand alot (read alot) of women are like that. It's not very often that you find one that is really cool. I'm thinking about selling the car, more for me than her. She's not into Scoobies like I am. All she says is "As long as I can get from point A to point B"..... Uggg.....

Anyways, I know you weren't being mean and that your intent was positive. I have to say that I really enjoyed the car as a touring sedan this weekend as I drove myself, g/f and 2 friends from Phoenix to Vegas in the SVX-T. What a smooth, fun ride. Lots of power for passing cars going uphill and on 2 lane roads. The turbo makes a HUGE impact on the cars power (duh!). That being said, I am still investigating if I want to sell it. Just too damn costly to convert the car over to a 5 speed manual. And that's what the car is really missing and the main reason I am thinking about selling it.

Red,

I'm planning on putting a stage 1 kit on the RS 1st half of this new year. Robert is going to test out a kit / create one for Aaron's RS. I will eventually get one. I'm still stumped on what to do for her, since she really isn't into cars. I want a Legacy & the SVX-T (5spd) and a RS all for myself (what a little brat I've become).

I still have no idea what to do,.....
