Don't wax it. Hold off on that. The factory stuff will be fine for a month or so.

You don't want to put marks in the paint the first time out.

If you wash it try to use a sponge that won't drag dirt on the paint. I use this:
http://www.properautocare.com/chenwasmit.html

This site also has some good tips:
http://www.properautocare.com/detailingtips.html

get some microfiber towels to wash and dry the car. I got a pack of those turtle wax micro fiber towels. The ones that wallmart sell are comparable in quality. Small but they do the work. They dont scratch yor paint like terry towell would. i use 2 for driying, one for washing.
You saw my car at the six flags meet (only black wrx there). I would also hold on the waxing, at least untill you get something good to apply, like Klasse AIO and Klasse SG. Not wax but acrylic protection. Best stuff Ive used. If you drive to my house I can do your car but im too far away.

Wow Vapororon. I use all the same stuff and I love it also!

mr.blone:
This is the kit I purchased from properautocare.com:
http://www.properautocare.com/klassoncomki.html
which includes what Vaporon is speaking of (Klass AIO and SG) along with other products and the microfiber towels.

I have plenty of it left and this is what I plan to bring to your place. It is also the best stuff I've ever used, and it holds up very well (last a long time).

Sorry, but it can't be this week. I'm leaving for a wedding in Maine this week, and won't be returning until sometime on Sunday.

But, I need to clean my own car up when I get back (sometime next week). Maybe we can work something out next week after 4PM. I'm usually out of work around 2:45PM.

I'm back. I'm tired. My car is very nasty and some idiot in a Ford van lost a hubcap when he veered into the rumble strip right in front of me. The hub cap found my front bumper. I actually aimed for it to go under between my wheels (knowing it would do damage) because I was worried if I missed it the guy on the motorcycle behind me wouldn't, and I'd be calling 911 instead of being mad at a rest stop.

I'm not available tonight (since I was up at 4 AM taking folks to Logan). Friday I get out at noon from work though.

Checking out the weather Thursday looks like our best bet (coolest temps, chance of rain minimal).

Do you have a hose hookup at your house?
