Default so i saw this poster on the window of a subie dealer yesterday...

it wasn't too big, but i could still see it from the roadway. it was black and read......

"wanna race?"

and then below that it has "wrx"

so whatcha all think of that and subaru's commercials and warranty/stance on mods?

Depends on who that question was intended to appeal to. At first blush it strikes me as about as irresponsible as cigarette companies targeting kids.

Whether or not they have the right to make that advertisement is a different story...

One of the dealers in AZ has that all over the place. on the bottom of the huge floor graphic in the show room it says something like "any damage caused by racing is not covered under warranty".

It does refer to the free SCCA license on it. It comes off like:

WANNA RACE?
Good. Buy a wrx and get a free SCCA license and do it the right way, on the track.

That's how I took it. You'd have to see it. maybe someone has pics.

My uncle who works at a subaru dealer sent em 2 license plates that say that on it. They put them on all the wrx's there I guess.

I've seen it before and I think it's a little irresponsible.

pretty much, i think subaru needs to either stop touting the wrx as a boy racer car, or step up to the plate with warrentying shiz like their transmissions. Preferably they would start taking car of their glass transmissions... but who knows what subaru is thinking anymore, they seem to be pretty nutty. But its that nuttyness that causes beautifull things, like forresters that are faster than wrx's and standard awd. i guess shady practices mixed in with great products just come along with the terratory with subaru.

oh please!!!!!!!! what happened to individual responsibility!!???!? All of these liberal, blame the world attitudes make me sick! It doesn't matter what they place on a poster, it is up to your own self to make a decision on whether or not it is safe to race and wher you do it... I guess I should blame Subaru for the speeding tickets I get as well if the posters are irresponsible.

If I posted a sign in the dealership that said "off yourself" would you? Please. The SCCA also says to keep it on the track and keep it off the street... does anyone bitch to them to pay their repair bills when things break and aren't covered under warranty?

Give me a PM when YOUR Tranny breaks!!! Everyone is all BIG talk until they run into problems themselves!!! It's only a matter of time before EVERYONE with a 2002 and 2003 Impreza is going to start running into problems.

So,....."Oh please!!!!!!!!" My Butt!

I don't think you understand the intent of my quote. Sorry if I miscommunicated. My point was not to say that I am different than others with BIG talk, (which btw, I do try to not follow the flow of liberal media born and societal thinking) but to point out that everyone has a personal responsibility for their actions, REGARDLESS of what textual innuendos may be out there. I mean c'mon!!! Do you think the word irresponsible is worthy because Subaru places a race poster in their window? or for that matter because they even printed one up? Get real. I don't care what they print, it doesn' make them RESPONSIBLE for the little boys and girls who "race" and then wreck. The only person that may hold some responsibility is their parental figures by not instilling some form of responsibility for themselves and courtesy for the safety of others.

peace, out.
