Talking 1/4 mile times

Hey, I just got back from the track and here are the times that Curt (turbo4me) posted in my car. The reason his times are up cause I suck as a 1/4 mile driver....

Remember, this is with the stock exhaust (that is terrible)!

I was getting alot of lost boost due to the really, really restrictive exhaust. I was loosing boost @ 5000rpms from 5psi down to 2psi.

Don't forget that the SVX is a pig @ 3650lbs to start without my fat @$$ in it....

I have a dynomax cat, 2.5" dia. on order from Jegs and I have a Bullet turbo exhaust, 2/5" dia on order from Carparts. Robert and I agreed that we needed to run one week with stock exhaust and then another week with a aftermarket exhaust.

The car is slow stock. It's a bloated little piggy, but it can really move once you get going. It's like a tank....

Considering that stock was 15.9, and that you have minimal tuning of the system, this is quite a good start.

I really wish Aaron had been able to run his stock SVX last night too, so that we could have compared times. I'm guessing his stock MY92 would have ran around a 17. This is based on some street runs we made before going to the track.

Wow- nice seeing some times. Time to do the exhaust- this should wake the car up, and get the car into the 14s. The stock exhaust- fine for a luxury car, but sucks for performance...are you thinking of dual pipes with seperate mufflers or something?

I ordered a Bullet tube style exhaust, 2.5" plus a Dynomaxx hiflow cat. Throw on some 2.5" tubing and I'm all done. The muffler will sit up towards the heat sheild south of where the resonator currently is. That will be removed and replaced by the cat north of it.

I am hoping to drop to around 14.75ish, depending on my ability to drive. If I don't have the exhaust by next Wednesday, I will run it with the exhaust disconnected. Should be interesting.

So are you running a single pipe from where the two downpipes merge?

Not sure I understand the question, but here my try at an answer

One pipe currently and in the future from the downpipes to the muffler. Somewhere south of the new muffler I will have the pipes Y split out to the tips.

Make sense?

Hey guys/gals, would you like for me to make an SVX 1/4 mile time registry on the page that I just started?

I didn't bother to make a SVX section since I only know of one guy who goes to the dragstrip to get his time. Here's a link to my website. Subaru 1/4 Mile Registry

It's pretty plane right now since I just started it but I am working on it and hopefully I'll get a lot more times to add. Thanks!

Kastle,

Could you provide me with your 660 (1/8th mile speed) speed, the track you did it at and the date you did it? I just noticed that your you have a TURBO KIT added to your SVX. Is there a website for the mile-high turbokit? What is the link? Thanks!

I will have / better numbers on Wednesday / Thursday.

I will ask Robert Ansick, owner of MileHigh Automotive about website things on Monday when I go up to Prescott. The only website that I have information posted on about the turbo is under the members section of AZscooby.com

[ edit - I might be selling the car too if your interested.... ]
