Question Forester XT's turbo on a GC8????

Hey was wondering if the new Forester XT's turbo system is tranferable and workable on any of the older GC8 cars? ( I have a MY2000 coupe myself) And if so what kind of mods are needed to make it work? Is it reliable or would it be a money pit with no real returns??? Any info would be nice, thanks!

Or why not even a better turbo if your going to do it? Aftermarket FI has some good write ups, as far as reliable nope not without a good tuner/management/ and ALL supporting mods. I think its a waste of money and if your thinking that the new forester 2.5L is anything like your GC6 you overlooked something. Its definately NOT a RS2.5L

yeah except the forester is way faster (faster than a stock wrx)

the turbo setup on a forester is identaical to the WRX except with out the cat in the up pipe... the turbo is the SAME as the wrx

Like any other EJ18/20/22/25 it should fit fine and bolt up to the tranny. Just make sure you either do a complete standalone or get the harness/ECM with it. It is easiest to do a COMPLETE swap.

Its been posted elsewhere that while they both say TD04 the part number is different for the WRX turbo and XT/Baja turbo.
