Help! Engine Blown in my Legacy GT 2.5. Swaps?

Hi...today my 98 Legacy GT wagon puked it's guts out all over the highway. I'm going to have to do an engine swap either way, and I wondered if there's a bolt-in swap I can do that might get me a turbo, or more HP for the Oxygen-starved Colorado mountains. I'd like to keep costs down, but if there's something easy (I'm pretty mechanically well-versed) and not outrageously expensive, I could go for it. I know *nothing* about Subie swaps, so any resources anyone has would be great Thanks.

Well, unless you're going to swap ECU's, you're going to want an EJ25.

the wireing is a total pain ...

if you plan on wiring anyway, go H6! torque for mountains is better than revs! either way plan on wiring or put the same lame motor(rebuilt/new) back in. --keith

i got a 2.2 litre (not sure engine code though) with ludespeed turbo kit on it, its pretty fast but it has a electromotive tec II stand alone engine managment... so it takes a little TLC to keep her running prime, i dono what to ask for it, dono if your even interested
