Default pulled 2 CEL's codes... need some help.

just pulled these two codes:

P0102 = MAF signal low input

P0325 = Knock Sensor Malfunction

Car idles ok, a little rough... but stumbles and bogs when you press the gas and try to move the car...

Any ideas? I just put in a fresh MAF and it did'nt make it any better...

could the knock sensor be bad, causing the ECU to pull timing, making the car bog?

thanks,
Brian

EDIT: forgot to add, the intake had fallen off, causing the maf not to read... thus sending the bad signal? so its more of a knock sensor problem?

The trouble shooting diagnostics for P0325 say it'll cause "poor driving performance" and basically is a result of sensor or electronics failure. Check and make sure the knock sensor is still connected and that the connecting bolt is tightened. There are a few other checks involving checking the resistance between the ECU and the sensor to see what exactly needs replaced. If you want I can email the scanned diag pages for that code.

Hope that helps,
Brian

You said the intake fell off. See if there any place that is not clamp tight. I'm thinking there is a leak somewhere after the MAF sensor.

When you fix the MAF problem you'll probably fix the knock code.

I had the same code from my knock sensor. I was about to buy a new one for almost 100 bucks from Subaru... then I went to unscrew it to bring it in and it was loose as hell. I believe the ECU retards the timing like hell to ensure that there is no predet when the knock sensor isnt working.. this is why the car will hardly run. From what i discovered... if you get the Knock Sensor code.. it is either broken or loose, otherwise ull never get it.

I have heard this problem so much. When I put my motor together I was so anal about Torque Specs because I wanted everything to work like factory when I got done. I think i even used a torque wrench on the Knock sensor.. no surprised it came loose now that I think about it. Subaru shoulda put some sort of lock washer on that one. Oh well, easy fix

For now on, Im just gonna use German Torque Specs...
