Lightbulb Auto Climate Control in '02

Anybody do a swap of the A/C controls from a '04 in a '02-'03? To have auto air conditioning and the new look dials, I know a new trim piece for around the knobs and controls would be in order but can I also just buy the set of 3 knobs (the complete unit) and plug it in or what? I'm thinking the sensor is behind those little slits in the trim piece and maybe it works off the climate controls and doesn't need a lot of re-wire work.

The '04 has auto climate control? The controls look to be the same as the 02-03... The STi might have auto climate control (either that, or it just has numbers rather than just red and blue marks on the temperature dial), but the normal WRX doesn't appear to...

I think the STi has a differnet AC condensor as well, people have tried the JDM STi one(same as our current sti IIRC) in the 02 but I think there is quite a bit more to it than it seems.

sorry yeah it is the STi but still, I'm wondering what it involves, maybe some guy with money burning a hole in his pocket can try.

I believe the Auto unit uses an automatic recirc button, versus the manual type that is in the US WRX. Probably requires a different mechanism to shut/open by the fan.
