knock link questions

I am looking to get one.... A few questions:

1) Is it pretty simple to install? (I know, subjective question here... My knowledge about automechanics goes as far as doing basic maintenance, and IHE modding).
2) Does anyone have a how-to on this?
3) Where can I find a decent price for this?
4) Any better knock detection tools than knock-link (other than your ears

)?

These are really commonplace in the UK...........you could try posting on www.scoobynet.co.uk to find a vendor; someone might be able to point you in the direction of a US vendor.

FYI........there's a new version of the Knocklink about to hit the marketplace (in the UK at least).........instead of the small "back box" it looks like a standard 52 mm circular gauge with different coloued lights around the perimeter which warns you about the severity of pinging (light, moderate, severe etc.). I think it's pricey though; maybe around $300 USD.
