Thumbs up Baja Beach Patrol in NJ!

13 beach communities in NJ have been loaned 20 Baja Sports for the summer, to be used as beach patrol vehicles. This from SOA's DRIVE magazine.

I think this is a super marketing idea for Subaru. I can't think of a better way to get more "visibility" for this vehicle. They should extend this program to beach communities in every state that has shoreline, not just NJ.

Also a good tax write off on a slow selling model.

The vehicles are on loan. They didn't give them away. So, where's the tax write off?

By loaning them and having them come back with miles on them they can depreciate the loss of sale value which will their accountants will claim to be something like 10K a unit. That's just a guess but I'll bet it's not that far off if they're any good. It's a win win win for them. They roll some aging stock from the lots, get them seen by target market buyers at the beaches then they get tax money back at the end of the fiscal year. Brilliant!
