Post JBP STi with Advan RCII

I'm currently running 225 45 S03s on 17x8.5 rims, what's a more ideal tire size 235 40 or 235 45? Thanks.
Too bad they don't make Azenis sports at that size.

You can try importhookup.com and ask for Tim, tell him Walter referred you.
I don't quite know what's the best offset but there aren't many rims that can fit over the Brembos. I think you also have to look at offset, width and different spoke patterns, so there's no best fit or perfect setting.

They look great!

I was planning on getting the Advan TCII's or the Advan Model 5 rims...Does anyone know if they can fit on the STi?

Thanks. I think 17x8.5 45 offset should fit, but you might want to check and make sure. Btw, TCIIs look great but they're very $$$, over $2500 a set . I think importhookup has a set.

hey h2o...SWEET ASS rims bro. They make your STi look even meaner. As for tires...if you're going to go with the 235 series I'd advise you to go with 45's. However, if you decide on 245's, 40's would probably be better to counter the width.

just my $.02

Thanks STiLL. I think 235 45 will be better cause my speedometer is off by 5 mph.

Very nice wheels...

Our personal favorite!

We regularly import these wheels and are glad that they fit the new STi. We currently have them available in both 17 and 18 inch sizes.

I personally have my eyes sent on the TCIIs as well, but wow at over 2000 a set I am having reservations.

We shall see.

Cheers,

good choice, would've been my EXACT tire choice also. Damn, I can't get over how nice those Advans look

I think I'm set on the TCII's for the STi, Z1 said he could negotiate something for me when I'm ready. I know they're STILL gonna be pricey regardless..but hey, they're ADVANS, what do you expect..ya know.

STiDriven, the TCII's will fit the STi sized in 17x8.5 +45. Z1 confirmed it for me on another thread.

I'd recommend 245/40-17 for those wheels & on that car. If you rub, roll the fenders. I wish I could fit 245/40's under my wagon

The RCIIs look great, I just want to test see if they fits, but I don't want to take them out now.
Hey, STiLL, post picts of TCIIs after you got those, ok? I really want to see how they look on our GDB, GDB-C body styles. I will take more pix this weekend.

I'd like to get 245/40 17 but acceleration and gas milage will be bad. Well, unless I want to turn my car into an Auto-X machine.

I'm still undecided on keeping the British Pewter (silver) PFF7s, or getting the British Black GC-010s... Argh. That, and I'm going to get a set of 235/40/18 S-03s as the Kumhos aren't going to cut it... I'll wait a couple months and recover my down payment first.

Let me know if you need help with the headlight clearing. I'll walk you through it, and you can do the hard labor.

Great news on the Advan's fitting. They're a bit pricier than the SSR Competitions (which don't fit), but not nearly as much as Fikse or Kinesis.

Does anyone have verified weights?

$470 16.5 lbs RG
$460 ??.? lbs RCII
$630 ??.? lbs TCII

The translation of one of the Japanese web sites says the TCII is the lightest of their wheels -- at 16.5 lbs the RG is fairly lightweight, so this sounds very promising. Z1 thought they were about a pound less than the RG and just a hair lighter than the RCII. That would put them very close to the SSR Competitions -- sounds perfect. He also indicated that the TCII's were one of the strongest wheels, which is also good (I'm planning on using them with Victoracers as track wheels).

Maybe if those hollow spokes are left open I'll fill them with styrofoam to keep stuff out.

Nice rims there, h2o!
Makes yours unique.

BTW, how much did you pay for your STi?
I'm still trying to find a good price here in CA.

Thanks,

STiDriven, IF I GET THEM(TCII's), I will definitely get gold since my STi is going to be white(still awaiting its arrival ). But I'm kinda having second thoughts on the TC's since they are waaay pricey. That in mind, in the end, I might just go with the gold RCII's like H2O's sweet ass ride. But if anyone can cut me a deal on the TC's(maybe a mirror price of the RCII's??) I will certainly like to get a set. H2O, are you planning on getting some coilovers? IMHO, I think that would top the look off for your STi.

I think I need coilovers cause the stock one is kind of soft when I make sharp turns. It rubs the rear a little, too. I had Tein Flex on my rex b4, I dunno how much better compared to the stock suspension.

Default coilovers

Well, I'm sure that the Tein Flex coilovers will be a "step up" from your stock STi suspension. I guess it's all on how you tune them. From what I've heard from Z1 and seen on many threads on the suspension forum(search "Tein Flex" or "clunk Flex") I've heard that the Flex's are notorious for the "clunk" coming from the rear coilovers. I was set on some Flex's but now I'm starting to consider some Tein SS's(Z1 said for infrequent track time, these are more than adequate). Have you had any "clunk" from the rear coilovers with the Flex's on your older WRX? Or maybe clunking in your STi if you've already installed them?

-oh yah...THANK YOU FOR MORE PICS!! Your STi looks sooo sick with your RCII's. Can't say that enough.

The clunk is actually quite annoying. It's the pillowball mounts (metal to metal) that cause those noise, SS does not come with those. I sold my old one and I miss the EDFC . It's really handy.
