Default PDE Flex Uppipes! (large pictures inside!)

EDIT: PDE Solid Uppipes IN STOCK! - as of 10-06-2003
Solid uppipes (for those with headers) are available! More flex uppipes expected by this weekend!

Please email me with any questions! sales@speedabsolute.com

There seems to be some confusion about PDE's new flex uppipe and how it compares to the competition. For those unfamiliar with PDE, their products are of extremely high quality - construction, fit and performance.

PDE Flex Uppipe! $275 and includes FREE SHIPPING
PDE Solid Uppipe! $249 and includes FREE SHIPPING
PDE Downpipe! $399 and includes FREE SHIPPING

The pictures below show the pride PDE takes in their products - from the perfect inside and outside of flange TIG welding, heatshield bracket, tube-in-flex design for low turbulence and long life, relocated EGT bung for ease of installation (no CEL), and finally to the thick and perfectly flat flanges. In addition, PDE's QA is outstanding - you will receive a perfect product!

PDE conducts extensive long-term real-world testing of their products on rally cars and street cars, as well as dyno/flow/pressure testing. TIG welded inside and out, perfect fitment every time, there are reasons they designed their products the way they did - you will be impressed!

Ground shipping to the continental 48 states is included. Your order will ship same day if received by noon PST!

Please let me know if you have any questions as I would be glad to help!

This uppipe is dead sexy, and I am so poor.

Let's use the old barter system. So here is what I am willing to do: I will pay for shipping, and install it on my car. My car will then become the official SpeedAbsolute test vehicle. I will post pictures for all to see, write glowing reviews, and generally make a nuisance of myself spreading the SpeedAbsolute word throughout NASIOC much in the way that Amway, Avon, et al people do. What do you say?

poor, in love with your product, and bored is a terrible combination, at least it gives you a bump!

Nice looking UP! Your website says this should not be mated to aftermarket headers. Why? Is it because the flex is right next to the header mount.
Thanks, OKD

Sorry it took me a while to respond to these posts as I was out for the afternoon.

Unabomber, I would love for you to be the official SpeedAbsolute.com test vehicle but unfortunately I already have one (my WRX)! lol, sorry! (I would still love to help you out in any way possible - please let me know if you have any questions).

Thanks for the bump!

okiedude - I knew NASIOCers would show some interest when they actually saw the pipe!

PDE recommends using their solid uppipe with aftermarket headers mostly due to extreme durability. The PDE flex (similar to other flex pipes) is designed to adjust to tolerances and completely seal with the factory cast iron manifolds (and last approximately 20+ years based on PDEs computer modeling in this configuration), but aftermarket headers have a tendency to move around quite a bit and place more than designed stresses and vibrations on the flex bellows.

I wouldn't view this as a negative, more of just an intention of the design. Their flex uppipe has already lasted a season on a rally car (as well as street cars) and PDE put the time and computer modeling into designing their product right from the start. I hope this answers your question!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Does the price include gaskets, studs, etc, etc. everything needed to install, or do we use our exisiting hardware?

What's the shipping to 99502?

Thanks.

the price includes the uppipe and studs and shipping anywhere in the continental 48 states. You will use your existing lower flange bolts/nuts and upper flange nuts (basically everything you need). New gaskets are not included - if it is any consolation, PDE doesn't require that new gaskets are installed but most people replace their gaskets anyway because it is such a pain to replace them later. I recommend OEM gaskets if you plan on replacing them.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Thanks!

99502 is Anchorage Alaska, so it's not 'part' of the 48 states, though it's on the same continent.

UPS/FedEx 2 day air is usually the only choice we have, unless it can be sent through priority mail through USPS.

Crap! Sorry Code-7!

It looks like USPS Priority (3 days) with signature confirmation would be the way to go. Since I am new to NASIOC and I messed up your zip code I will cover the additional shipping! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Just installed mine, looks great, sounds good, still looking for a 2.2k resistor for the EGT probe (the stock one seised in the stock uppipe, vice grips and a 24" breaker ony made the bolt round )

Code-7 - I pulled one out of inventory for you. Please let me know if you change your mind!

foxdeman - that is too bad. Did you try WD-40 or some other penetrating spray on the EGT probe before you tried to remove it?

I'm out of stock! Not to worry, I've already placed an order with PDE and will have an ETA soon!

Please email me at sales@speedabsolute.com if you would like me to reserve something for you! (PDE flex uppipes, solid uppipes and downpipes are on the way).

Thank you!

Matt

So what do I do if I want to cover the uh, bung hole. Seems the new thing nowadays is to put a resistor on the probe, and leave the uppipe bungless, ala autospeed, for example.

I apologize for not responding sooner. In regards to the EGT "bung-hole", PDE recommends keeping the stock EGT sensor in place. I'm sure you could plug the hole and use a resistor, but it isn't really necessary.

I have seen a thread in Factory Forced Induction that discussed the bolt size and thread pitch for the EGT bung, but I can't seem to find it right now. I will keep looking.
