Default Help w. spring install in Dearborn..

I've got some new springs for my WRX that I've been sitting on for nearly a month (don't make a good chair, believe me!) and I'm really itching to get them on... I was going to rent a spring compressor and buy some jacks from the car parts store and try to put them on.

Anyone got any tips other than what I'd find in the tutorial? Anyone wanna come by for a beer or two and help? Havn't set a date yet, but I'm thinking some time this coming week like Tuesday or Thursday after work...

I can help whenever you would like. Tuesday isn't the best because of the BW's meet, but Thursday works for sure. I have a jack and jack stands we can use too.

Thanks man! I'd like to make the BW3 meet also, so Thursday does look better. Since you have the jack and jack stands (sure beats using the one that came with the spare tire!) would it be easier for you if I headed over your place?

How's Knightrider running?

Sounds fun.. I live close by and will bring another jack and stands If you want....

One thing ask around about tools cause the top nut that holds the spring to the damper is some times funny to take off... You might need a special socket or wrench..

keep me posted...

Well hey.. the more the better right?

I guess we'll do it at my place. I only have a 1 car garage, so we'll be doing this in the driveway. I also have access to a huge 20,000sq.ft. empty building we can all drive into if the weather is bad, but we'll really need to make sure we bring all tools, etc.

Either pm me or email quank @ alteraudio (dot) com

Well, this is turning into a little "mini-meet" so if anyone wants to come on by just to hang out (or be as generous as mbiker by lending his time and tools) please do! My house is really easy to find and easy to get to from nearly any freeway. I live like 1 minute from 94 and Southfeild Fwy. I live like 5 min. from 75 and maybe 10 min. from 96.

Bring a 6-pack and enjoy watching my neighbors wonder what the hell all of these Subarus are doing parked along their street!

Brad, I'll come down and lend a hand.

Seth, I'll talk to you about it tomorrow night at BWs.

Cool! Unless something comes up with work, I'll be at the BW3 meet tomorrow as well.

If we get a decent turnout (which it looks like we are) maybe we can do a weekly or bi-weekly thing. I want to change my oil soon (WalMart $20 for 5 Quart of Mobile1) and put new brake pads so we'll see.

Banana!

EDIT: I started this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=390614 but it got burried.

PM's sent.

And I have a kick ass backup plan if it rains (we can play in a huge 30,000 sq. ft., empty building) but I think there's only like a 5% chance of it.

Ok guys - thanks for the PM's . I have the garage cleared out, the spring compressor rented and beer cooling in the fridge... Only thing we need for sure is a jack and jack stands. I wouldn't mind buying some jack stands and using the jack that comes with the spare if we need to (Murrays is only 5 min away.)

I'm looking at 5:00 or 5:30. See you guys then!

Brad: I'll bring my jack and jackstands for you. The only problem is I only have 2 jackstands, so if you wanted to pick up another 2 that would expidite the process some.

I quess I'll just drive home after work and then back to your place. Damn half mile sure does take a while around here.

Wow, you guys are gonna get started that early? I wouldn't be able to get down there until 7:00 or so. You'll probably be done by then!

Alan: We will be able to do your springs some other time. Maybe at Clayton's so we can use air tools instead.
