Talking car show ramblings aka Carbon Fiber HOODS!!

ohhh im in trouble now.....

i was gonna post this with the other but figured it might deserve its own topic..

went to the local annual winter car show last friday (cleveland autorama)and oogle cars for hours. what fun it was! This year did prove true that imports are taking over the showw scene EVERYWHERE! which made us (my group of buddies) happy. But, was audibly disturbing to others, "damn front wheel drive cars with slicks and those little four bangers!" One thing though was that i was reminded why i love Carbon Fiber soooo damn much. true it weighs less. true it can be expensive. but it also just looks so so so good. Which leads me to my next point.............

ANYONE want a c/f hood for their SVX? picture it now. a liquid silver svx with a c/f hood and black top...Mmmmmmm TASTY!
It would save weight (dunno how much) and if i can get 5 ppl to commit its only $600. true like i said earlier it is a little expensive but i think it would be worth it. it has to be cheaper than a stock replacement. i dunno, e-mail is the key or lets just mull it over.. I'd like to do it, but i cant afford to do it alone (1200$).

Thanks folks,
Paul

Tell me more...

Is it going to be dimensionally identical to the stock one? Will it have functional louvres/ NACA ducts?

Hmmm, we need it to have a hood scoop, especially so the turbo's can be intercooled!

Carbon fiber hood, eh? That would look pretty trick. The SVX hood is already aluminum though- I dunno if there will be a drastic weight savings. But it would look good.
