Post SVX is nice, but...

I hate to say it. I know it looks great, its fast, handles well, and always gets the double takes. But, I wish there was more to do with the car. It doesn't break down (knock on wood) but at the same time modifications are limited. Just put in the gas, change the oil and drive. Nice, but I wanna do more. With my scirocco its some new project every week, trying to sort out the exhuast, or the coilovers, or the euro spoiler. Thats kinda cool. With the SVX its deciding what wax to put on. Or if its time to lexol the seats. Ugh. What to do...

Someday, I am going to own one. Lets' see...for starters you can add an intake, exhaust, pulley and possibly a chip.

From there, you can possibly get Hotshot do make a header for you and for Cobb Tuning to design a cam(s) and cylinder head work for it. Maybe get a bigger throttle body at that point. At that point, hold on to your hat because it's going to roll.

I think I would add a 60-70 shot of Nos after this. Life would be good indeed. Of course this would be with tranny work. Yeah....life would be good. Someday!

Agreed. The SVX is an extremely nice, but rather boring car, especially now that we have figured out the weak points. I recall back in 1998 when we were all wondering why our transmissions were going bad. Now we know. Installation of a transmission cooler (Vern- I told ya so!) and proper packing of wheel bearings means anything that goes wrong is a result of age and wear, and not part of a general failure pattern.

Sort of like what is seen by 1st-gen M3 owners/ 4th-gen Supra owners.

Subaru would do well to base the next SVX on the last one to the greatest amount possible. It is a design that has proven itself over time.
